Totem

Introduction

Far beyond the humans world (called Earth) is a new planet discovered (called Amostnum) 500 years ago by a human. But this human was killed a few seconds later after he discovered us. The killer didn't understand it's discovery so he putted it into flames. From that moment nobody ever knew a thing about us, not even knew that we exist. But that was about to change.

Amostnum the planet has a special power like no other planet in this universe. This planet has the power of invisibility in front of humans so the humans normally couldn't see us. On the planet Amostnum live creatures that looks like humans but has a big difference between the creatures and the humans. They are called lantsoms and they have a human-like body but their society is based on the lantsoms' personality. What I mean is that they have totems. Not all of them, you get your totem at the age of 16. A totem is an animal that has the same personality as a lantsom. All the totems can be found in the Heracilum, the book of the totems. The totems actually describe the personality of a lantsom. Also at your age of 16, when you get your totem, your totem will be their beside you in living form as a friend. The animal can't talk but will be their to guide you until you are 23 years old. From that moment you will be drifted apart and you'll have to go on with your own life as a shape-shifter. That means that you can transform into your totem. At the age of 16, you don't only get your totem but also your name. When you are born as a lantsom you don't get a name like humans do. You get a number. A long number that will be your recognition to everyone from that moment until you are 16 years old. When you are 16 years old at the end of the year, you will get all of this and this all happens in a ceremony on the last day of winter. And from that moment you will have a totem which makes you special.

But one day we will be discovered which could be the end of our kind. And I ,Fiona, was there when it all happened. Let's go back to the year 2017 at the ending of the winter......
