A week has passed since Namjoon actually spoke with me that one time.
Every day was the same. He sat in the back, he was totally silent, and he never made eye contact with me.
"Hey Eun!" Hoseok ran up to me as I put my books back in my lockers.
"Hi Hobi." I smiled, looking at him.
He patted my head, "Your gonna come see my dance today right?"
I nodded. Today Hoseok had a small dance competition with two other people from other schools.
"Great! I'll see you then!" He waved goodbye, running off.
I sighed. I had a horrible headache.
I sat down on a bench outside. I went to the bench farthest away from everyone else.
"It's so quiet." I whispered to myself as I observed my surroundings.
There was a cherry blossom tree and some other bushes around. No one really came by here because well, hardly anyone knew about this place.
I sighed and looked to the side, at the other bench. I was taken by surprise when I saw Namjoon.
He quickly looked away as soon as he had made eye contact with me. I sighed and stood up then walked towards him, sitting on the edge of the bench he was sitting on.
"Namjoon..." I whispered loud enough so he could hear. "Why don't you smile anymore?"
Namjoon looked up at me, "Why does it matter?" He lowered his gaze.
"Because," I took a deep breath, "When you smile everyone else magically becomes happy."
Namjoon looked at me once more then looked to the side, "I can't smile as easy as I used to anyway."
I frowned, "Why?"
He shrugged, "Even if I told you, it wouldn't make a difference."
I scooted closer to him, our legs touched and he finally made eye contact with me.
He looked at me slightly confused before looking away at the cherry blossoms, "You see how easily the flowers fall to the ground?"
I nodded.
"And what eventually happens once the flower falls on the ground?" He asked, picking up a cherry blossom that had fallen besides the bench.
You opened your mouth to answer but he stopped you by replying instead.
"They die." He sighed, "Kind of like us."
You tilted your head to the side, "What do you mean?"
He dropped the cherry blossom that was once in his palm, "We, as humans will fall for someone or something, even if it wasn't on our own will." Namjoon kicked the cherry blossom and watched it float farther away with the wind, "But once we fall, we can't live the same unless someone picks us up again and helps us." Namjoon stood up and picked up the cherry blossom, placing it in my hand, "My flower didn't bloom and it had fallen too soon." With those words he walked away, leaving me in deep thought.
