So, I found a beautiful chickadee nest in this one bush. And now, a few weeks later, look at what the little lavender-grey eggs have turned into!
(I discovered this morning)

He was so sweet, I had a hard time having to give him up to the professionals. I got to hold him and spend about an hour admiring his gorgeous red feathers. He had a busted wing, and a weird growth thing on his foot when my mom found him hopping around in our yard, unable to fly. So I got a kitchen towel, and after a few minutes of chasing him around, (I was also barefoot so I would have an easier time not stepping on him) then I finally was able to gently toss it over him. And then I gently scooped up the trembling creature and carried him inside.
So, that's all the interesting wildlife stuff that has happened to me recently. well, besides when I was trying to catch a lizard yesterday, and it's tail snapped off when I took a hold of it. OH, AND THE TAIL WAS STILL WIGGLING AROUND AFTER IT HAD COME OFF FOR LIKE, TEN MINUTES. It was so gross, but I loved it. the little guy was already missing a leg when I found it, so now he has one hind leg, and no tail.
