So I got mistaken for a boy again recently.
My mom, my sister, and I were out at a nice-ish restaurant for a 'girl date', which was pretty fun.
Then towards the end of our meal (a.k.a. we had run out of onion rings), this middle-aged lady came up to our table and was being all enthusiastic.
"I just have to say, you have the most beautiful family I have EVER seen! I just cannot take my eyes off of your children! They're all SO beautiful!"
Then she turned to me and put her hand on my shoulder before saying,
"Oh, AND handsome too!"
Cue my eternal inward giggling, cue my mom being all weirded out, cue my little sister grinning knowingly from her seat, cue me trying to not seem like an effeminate boy.
"Oh, uh....Thank you."
OOH OKAY GET THIS, I LIKE, MADE MY VOICE SOUND DEEPER THAN IT REALLY WAS WHEN I SAID THAT.
BWAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHLFGB EUA TGWUT BWRIQT IBY
Then the lady told us to have a good rest of our evening, and I said "Thanks, you too!" in that SAmE voice.
yeah, my mom was all like, "Okay, you look nothing but feminine to me."
"Mom, it's fine! I think it's funny!"
The meal ended with lots of snickering on my little sister's part, a lot of grinning and reassuring mom on mine, and a lot of fussing over how these people should be able to tell a girl with short hair from a boy on my mom's.
(I mean, I know that I'm a girl, I'm not confused about that at all! So I just feel amused by it).
So there's another funny story of mine!
God bless y'all!
