Tonight was the night, Clay couldn't wait, this was all he every dreamed of and now it was coming true, even if it was only for a few hours. Clay quickly made his way to his room to change. He didn't have whole lot of nice things to choose from the best shirt he could find was all white with pearls at the seams of his sleeves and neckline.
The shirt hung loose on his form, since he was so small, but he didn't care this was the best shirt he owned. It was a gift from his father a few years before he died. Not really knowing what else to wear he quickly put in on then left his room.
"WHAT'S TAKING YOU SO LONG, GET DOWN HERE." Hannah screamed from the front foyer of their house. "The carriage will be here any minute and all you can do is be lazy." Cayden didn't know why they were complaining they took hours to get ready. Cayden was about to say something when a movement caught his eye.
"The carriage is here ma'am. Ursula leaned towards the window to look out "GIRLS, get in, let's go," she roughly pushed them out the door, forgetting about clay. Cayden quickly swam to catch up with his family. Suddenly Ursula stopped when she reached the door "Clay what are you doing" Clay seemed confused. "Going to the ball ma'am"
His stepmother sneered, but then cooled her face. "Not in that you aren't." She swam a little closer to clay and gently grabbed the sleeve of his shirt. "Is that a hole I see." Suddenly clay felt a harsh tug on the sleeve and a loud ripping sound. He gasped how could his stepmother do such a thing, yes she was evil, but he didn't think she would stoop so low.
"Yes brother dearest, and besides look the pearls are coming off." Taylor reached towards his shirt and started yanking off pearls, discarding them on the floor. Soon Hannah joined in. Clay couldn't take it anymore he pulled away from his sisters and swam towards his room.
He could hear his stepmother and sisters laughing down stairs as they left. Slowly Clay made his way towards his bed tear slipping into the water around him making it salter. How could he think he could have made it to the ball, he was nothing but a lowly servant, he didn't deserve happiness in his life.
With those thought in his head he started sobbing harder. So hard in fact he didn't notice the figure coming up behind him. "Excuse me, what's wrong" Clay gasped in surprise and turned quickly. In front of him there was a person he had a green tale and brown hair, but how in the world did they get in here.
"Nothing everything is fine." Clay said as he got up. "Doesn't look like nothing to me." the figure said with interest. Clay just gave him a quizzical look. "Is there anything you need."
"Yes actually there is, I'm here to help you get ready for the ball." the person giggles and clapped their hands together. No that was wrong I couldn't go to the ball. "I'm sorry you must have the wrong person I'm not allowed to go to the ball."
"Nonsense, every submissive is allowed, and besides everyone should get the opportunity no matter who you are." Clay just gave him a weird look. "I'm sorry what is your name again?" "Oh how silly of me, my name is Ethan and your name is Clay." I just stood there shocked, not saying anything. "Now that introductions are out of the way, let's get you ready."
Ethan then pulled out this long pointed stick. "What's that for?" Ethan looked at the stick then back at me and grinned. "This dear Clay is my magic wand." clay couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "Yeah right, magic doesn't exist." "well I would bet my bubble it does, now you need an outfit." Ethan suddenly pointed his 'magic wand' at Clay.
Suddenly he wasn't in his torn shirt anymore. Replacing it was an all white silk shirt with gem embroidered sleeves and neckline. When lay moved it sparked as if encrusted with tiny diamonds. The shirt itself went a little lower than his hips almost reaching the curve of his butt. A brown leather belt hung loosely from his hips engraved with pearls and shells.
Clay gasped he had never seen anything so beautiful, he almost didn't think it was real.
"How?"
"Magic, Now for some accessories."
Clay looked up sharply, "Oh, no that won't be necessary you've already done so much." "Nonsense" Ethan replied, he almost sounded offended. "We shall add all sorts of accessories so you will be the most beautiful at the ball. Ethan waved his wand again and this time a band of diamond surrounded Clay's head making a sort of headpiece.
Next a diamond bracelet made it's way around the bottom of his fin, and lastly a pure silver ring was placed on his right ring finger. Everything just got to much for Clay and tears of pure joy made their way to the corner of Clay's eyes.
"There ,there everything will be ok." Clay just sniffled and hugged Ethan thanking him over and over for what he had done. "There's no reason to thank me, it was my pleasure." They slowly made to the front of the house and Ethan opened the door for Clay so he could begin his journey to the palace. He was about to start on his way when Ethan stopped him.
"I almost forgot, on the last stroke of midnight the spell will be broken and everything will go back to how it was before. Clay nodded in understanding, he wasn't planning to stay that long anyway.
With one last thank you to Ethan, Clay started to make his way towards the palace.
