(School bell rings )

Ding, dong.

The school bell rang signalling end of class and start of lunch break, I packed away stationary picking up my briefcase and walk fast to the cafeteria.

Being in a place full of people, vampires couldn't risk biting me in public. The only way was if they go in acting like a human and persuade me away from crowd.

There was something else I had to confirm , what Ruki had hinted a lot has changed, and it wasn't just me, my blood and heart.. but maybe he'd been implying to changes was at school as well.

But never the less I had to know for myself, and thinking back to what Ms.Kyoko said in hospital, not once did she mention my school friends visiting.
Some people had asked after me at the funeral, once again Ms.Kyoko never mentioned them.

It wasn't just me that changed, but what happened at the school office someone had tampered with my schedule specifically, and took my spot in advance 2nd class. I had a bad feeling I was about to find out.

I needed to know if I still had school friends, with Ms.Kyoko away they were the only attachment to normal, and to my old self left. It was a false hope.
They would likely be in the cafeteria at the usual table.

Yuki enters the cafeteria, and spots the group, who were still alive except... something was different, as if there's been a shift of power in popularity.

Where I once sat at the centre for brains and wealth, was now replaced by, Saya l/n, comes from a wealthy family and who'd once been at the edges of the group. Not anymore. Saya was the new centre of this attention: flaunting in a miniature version of Ryoutei's uniform skirt.

The word sl** came to mind, no a hooker.

If Saya's parents saw their daughter dressed like this they'd freak, others would critize or have a thing or two to say, Reji would strictly lecture and my father would be horrified.

But being the sort of person I was I kept my opinion to myself, this was none of my business to dab in amd tell her parents, and what's more surprising the teachers haven't already called her out already and inform them.

So I'll leave myself out of it and let things blow over. But I had to wonder, was this the same girl I'd been friends with since middle school?
Saya's appearance had changed.

Except in a small way why was I happy I wasn't popular anymore. I never realised I'd been under a certain expectation, under a pressure to be perfect.

I happen to earsdrop on Saya's story which caught my curiousity, and seemed the others were engrossed.

"Did I tell you about the time I teared down walkers with Yuki."she lied through her teeth 'I let Saya do most of the killing.'

Except that wasn't true I recall it she'd been wearing a chiffon as a walking corpse.

But I wasn't about to tap her on the shoulder, and told them the truth .. I could imagime the worse case scenario calls me out or she storms out and she'd start bullying.

It's not worth getting myself involved. I told myself.

"Yeah you did. Please tell us about your genious plan of tampering her school record, Saya."

Tampering the school record?

I took a step closer pretemding to look at my mobile device.

"Oh my god it was so easy, with Yuki out of hospital and that other girl dropped out was perfect timing...I simply had to sneak into the office and hack into her schedule, amd when a male clerk caught me I did my little persuasion, he went along convincing everyone else who knows if she'll even come back? May as well let someone else make use, let another student take it than go to waste."
