"Ah!" A strangled cry escapes my throat as I fall to the floor from my bed. I look up towards my alarm clock in a position that slightly resembles the 'downward dog'.

The clock reads 7:30am. I shoot up ripping open my closet door and stepping inside looking for my plain jane school uniform. The first day back and I'm going to be late, great I think to myself as I button up my white blouse that has OAA in fancy cursive writing on the collar. I pull up my violet skirt, put on my socks, and begin to search for my shoes all in less than four minutes. Not bad, Brielle. I smirk to myself and drop to the floor scanning over rows and rows of shoes for my black baby doll flats.

"Mom!" I yell while flinging my room door open. I go back to searching for my flats. "Mommaaa!!" I say as my head ducks underneath the bed finding the flats sitting side by side. "Mom!"

I groan realizing I do not have a lot of time left, "have you seen my favorite sweater!?" I turn around quickly finding my mom leaning on the door frame swinging my sweater around her index finger and smirking at me.

"Brielle Oliver how many times do I have to tell you? You have to learn how to manage your time better. We live six minutes away from your school and last year you were late almost every day. If you just followed the schedule I put on the refrigerator...." My mom lectures as I finish the rest of my morning routine.

"Yes mom. I Know. Yes. Uh huh. I will. Okay. I have to go now. Okay. Yes. I love you too. Okay, I will," I groan inwardly as she continues to drone on about a five step plan she learned at one of her inspirational healthy living whatever class.

I grab a bagel and an orange and head out to my car. My car. I smirk at myself and yell to mom that I will see her later. I throw my stuff in the passenger seat and slam the door.

I text my friends that I am on my way and they all respond immediately telling me I need to hurry the first bell has already rung. I accelerate away from my house and drive as fast as possible until I see the 'Welcome to Ohana Arts Academy' sign.

I pull into the student parking lot where I have to park all the way in the back because of the flood of cars that are already here. I jump out of my car straight into a puddle. This seriously cannot be happening, I think to myself as I run into the building shaking my foot and hobbling to my first class.

I burst through the classroom door as soon as the bell rings and quickly make my way over to my friends not wanting to look at my teacher. I take my seat and look up to meet the stern mans gaze. He squints at me then his eyes widen slightly. "...Brielle? Is it? Come up to my desk please." Mr. Goetz says, I slowly make my way up to the front of the class feeling my classmates stares on my back.

"Listen, I've heard about you and I don't want to believe those things are true so you are going to have to prove to me otherwise or there will most certainly be consequences. Understood? Great, take a seat."

I gape at the man and slowly make my way back to my seat in a daze. Can this day get any worse? I ask myself. I sit down and glance at my friends. I know they are wondering what he said but then I see them motioning for me to turn around. I raise an eyebrow towards them and turn around.
