{Soras POV}

"Would you like anything to drink? Tea, coffee....?"
The strange woman yelled in a bubbly tone as she practically bounced into the kitchen. I stood silent and trembling slightly in the strangers home, though Aiko seemed quite comfortable.

"No thanks! I'm not staying long, but could Kan-kun have water please!"
My alpha friend yelled in response as she slumped back against the wall, keeping her arms loose at her sides. Aiko was wearing a somewhat large hoodie, I found it quite odd since she was usually the type to wear tight fitting vests and t-shirts.
"You can relax Sochan, you're safe here."
She smiled, distracting me from staring at her large and insanely comfy sweatshirt.
I just wanna cuddle her...

I gave Aiko a weak smile in response before hesitantly sitting down on a grey plush sofa that sat contently in the center of the lounge. The spry woman reappeared moments later, carrying a glass of water in her pale hands. She gave me an oddly warm look and joined Aiko, standing against the wall, passing me the glass before doing so.

"Thank you, Ann-chan."
Aiko sighed with a chuckle.

I sat there, quietly sipping at my water while the two women spoke among themselves for what felt like hours, I was about to open my mouth to ask what was going on, when a sudden, faint cry sounded from above me.

"Ah I'm sorry! give me a minuet!"
Ann apologized sweetly before sprinting upstairs, repeating the words "It's okay" and "calm down, mamas coming". My eyes widened at the sound of her gentle words, the strong muscle in my chest began thumping against my ribs harshly as I realized what was making that oddly calming sound.

"B-baby."
I mumbled quietly, looking towards the stairs, then looking back at Aiko.

Before Aiko could reply, Ann came trotting down the stairs, carrying what at first looked like a bundle of fleece blankets, but upon closer inspection, it was indeed a baby.

"Is he okay?"
Aiko asked with a smile, gazing happily at the small sobbing bundle in her friends arms.

"He's fine, I put him down to sleep just before you arrived, but he's a clingy little pup, so I can't leave him for long."
Ann chuckled, bouncing the crying baby in her arms gently, causing his distressed sobs to cease almost instantly.

I couldn't help but stare at the bundle of blankets as two little hands popped out and began clawing at the air, clenching into little fists while their controller made sweet, quiet little noises and wriggled gently.

"What a pain."
Aiko laughed as she combed her long ginger hair away from her face.

Ann chuckled and gave Aiko an upward glare with a smile.
"Well you've got all this to look forward to, so if you think it's a pain I wish you luck when your pup i-"

"Ann!"
Aiko snapped quickly, intending to cut off her friends sentence, but it was too late.

I looked at Aiko in an almost distant manner before a scowl grew on my face.
"What does she mean? You have all this to look forward to?"
I mumbled.

Aiko can't be expecting, she might be a midwife and a child carer, but she's always said that she'd never have her own, they're too much work in her eyes.

"Oh he didn't know...I'm so sorry Aiko-San!"
Ann panicked. Her pup clearly picked up on his mothers discomfort as he started screaming at the top of his tiny lungs. The black haired woman began rocking the child in her arms again before turning to Aiko to apologize again.

Only before Ann could open her mouth, the front door had already slammed shut and the sound of a car engine starting sounded from outside. Aiko just walked out, ran away before I could dispel the chronic confusion I felt towards the situation.
