I was scared as hell in Theodore's house. I know we caught him off guard and had him out numbered, especially since we came with guns, but I'm still scared of him retaliating. I know he said he'll be cordial with us but after what happened between all of us, there's still bad blood and I can't put anything past him or his family at this point.
As soon as we got back to our parents' house, we all went to our separate corners and didn't speak to each other because there's nothing to be said. We went to Theodore's house for a sole purpose and we accomplished that purpose, with much persuasion on Marquis's end. It took a lot to convince him to put his feelings aside and just meet up with Theodore so we could discuss business and I'm actually surprised he was able to hold himself together for the little meeting. It's just a wonder what he'll be like in the future.
I walked into my old bedroom that I had cleaned up since being back home. I moved out of my parents' house a few years ago and I hadn't been back since. I had been on my own since I moved out and my room hadn't been touched since I left. So after we killed out parents, I had to do something with my room since I'm going to be staying here for now. I had to clean it and move things around to make it more comfortable for myself, even though this is the last place I want to be. If it was up to me, I'd be living far away from my family and alone. I really wouldn't have anything to do with my family but at this point in time, they're my lifeline and I need the money.
I locked the door behind myself and plopped down in my bed, not feeling good about that whole encounter with Theodore. I know Precious and Marquis will be pissed if they find out I'm doing this but I'm gonna have to keep it a secret for now. I need to reach out to Theodore because I miss him and I miss what we had. I know I'm partially to blame since I wasn't completely truthful with him but he has to understand where I'm coming from. I can't just go telling my family business to everyone, just like he can't. Because he didn't tell me about the shit he does until the very end of our relationship.
Hoping he hadn't changed his number, I pulled my phone out of my purse and called him. Damn. I really hope he picks up the phone and doesn't just ignore me. I mean, he has to have feelings for me still because I still have feelings for him. His feelings just can't disappear because of one altercation between our families.
"What?" he answered.
"Prince...," I trailed off. I really wasn't expecting him to answer so I was caught off guard when I heard his voice.
"Why are you calling my phone?"
"Because I wanted to talk to you one on one, without my siblings around."
"Why?"
"I just wanted to talk to you, damn. Prince, I don't know why it's so much animosity between the two of us. I know I wasn't completely truthful to you but you weren't completely truthful to me either. You had me thinking you were just running a club but you're out doing other shit. The both of us were in bad positions and couldn't just outright say what our families do so just give me a break. I'm not a bad person, and you know this. I was just trying to protect my family the same way you're trying to protect yours."
"Okay."
I sighed. "But do you understand where I'm coming from though? Like, you really can't be mad at me for what happened. I can't control my brother either because he's a grown ass man. I'll admit, he was wrong to try fighting you in your own house and for disrespecting Princess and I checked him about it. And I'm sorry about just walking into your house today and having a gun around Princess, tha--"
"Aye, shut the fuck up," he cut me off, making me scrunch up my face.
"Excuse me, what?"
"You heard me. Shut the fuck up discussing business over the phone. You were raised in the same type of family I was raised in and you know better than to be talking shit like this over the phone because anybody can be listening. If you want to talk to me then you're gonna have to do it in person."
