All About Talent and A Little Bit of Falling

I was in last hour trying to pack my bag so i could leave and go to work. Everyone around me goes semi quiet when the loud speaker comes on.

"Excuse the interruption teachers and students, this year we will be hosting Westlake's got talent. Any one who would like to join please stop by room 120 to pick up a form and register to be in the show."

At first i didn't think about it but too much. I was just in a hurry to get to work.

When the bell rang everyone crowed by the door. I always wait to be one of the last ones to leave so I don't have to be pushed around by everyone else. After everyone leaves I quickly walk out the door to avoid any conversations with Mr.Josh. Finally I meet up with Leo at the double doors to leave the school.

"Hey Lena did you hear about the Talent Show? I was thinking you should join." her saying this took me by surprise

"You know I'm not that great at singing in front of people." I say trying to brush it off but I start laughing when I see her face. "Um what wrong with your face? Did you get stung by a bee?" I ask her while holding back my chuckling.

"Are you stupid of course I didn't get stung by a bee. I just think you should try to do something for yourself for once. Your always working or babysitting your nephew. Maybe its time for you to have some fun," she looked at me and smiled "Plus i would love to make fun of you when you pass out infront of all those people" I laughed.

"Thanks Leo, but i can't, I might have to work and i cant just go home and tell my parents I want to sing in a talent show. They might think im insane." I say thinking about it to deeply.

We turn down the road my house is on. "You know Lena I think you would be really great." she says just as her mom pulls up next to us. "Later sis see you tomorrow if I decide I want to go to school." she waves put the window of the Tahoe.

I smile when I get home and see my cat is waiting for me. I stop to pet her for a second and then quickly go to my room to get ready for work. I work at the towns local Popeyes. Its not all to great but I couldn't get anywhere better to work being as that I am only sixteen.

Pulling my hair back and my cap on I race to the door and try to leave as quickly as possible so i can eat before work.
