Chapter 11: 16 Weeks Pregnant

_____'s POV:

Today is my 16 week check up with my OB/GYN and I am actually excited. Mary is going to be coming with me today since she wants to be there for moral support. I started consulting some cases for the firm from home and honestly it kept me going. I have been having a tough time sleeping because I stay up wondering about how Justin is doing. This has been the longest I have gone without talking to him since we met and honestly it is killing me. That's when it hit me that Caitlin's brother Christian works for Justin and I could possibly ask her to fill me in on how things where going for Justin.

I grabbed my phone and dialed her number. She picked up after the second ring.

Cait: ____! Oh my God girl,how is the baby?! *This is the same way she answers the phone ever since the day I found out I was pregnant*

_____: Hi Cait! The baby is fine, but it is hungry 24/7.

Cait: I'm glad! It seems like it is going to have the same eating habits as its dad *she said giggling*

____: Talking about its dad, I need you to ask you a big favor. *I said nervous that she wouldn't agree*

Cait: Sure girl, what is it?

_____: Can you ask Chris on how Justin is doing? Please I wanna know if he is okay. *I said with a shaky voice*

Cait: wait a second! ____, he doesn't know where you are? You didn't tell Justin where you were going? *She said on what sounded surprised and disappointed at the same time*

_____: I was scared! Believe me! I have tried over and over to find the words to tell him, but I cant seem to find them. *my voice started breaking*

Cait: Honey, he needs to know you're okay. That the baby is okay. You know, it's his baby too.

_____: I know but I'm not ready to tell him. I will soon but please can you find out how he's doing for me? *I said pleading and heard her let out a sigh*

Cait: Fine, but promise me you will talk to him.

_____: I will. Thank you so much Cait! I owe you one.

Cait: No problem, you know I'm always here for you.

_____: Thank you. Hey I gotta go, just got to the hospital for my check-up.

Cait: Okay, tell me how it goes!

_____: I will bye!

Cait: Bye! *She said and we both hung up*

I put my phone inside my bag and walked into the hospital with Mary right behind me.

Justin's POV:

These few weeks have been hell. I have been drowning in work because of the renovations of our Hampton's Resort and the opening of a new resort in the Bahamas. But that has not been enough to keep my mind away from _____. It has been almost two months now since I last spoke to her. My mom told me that by now she should be showing and that she should be almost able to identify the sex of the baby. Honestly it scares me that something happened to her and the baby.

I heard a knock on the door and Chris walked in.

Justin: Come in!

Chris: Hey bro. Ryan, me and a couple of the guys are going to go out to get a couple of drinks. Do you wanna come? *He said sitting on one of the chairs across from me*

Justin: I'll pass man. I'm not in the mood for anything. Plus, I have a lot of paperwork to go through.

Chris: Okay, man what is going on? No matter how much paper work you have you always come out for drinks.

Justin: It's ____ okay?! * I said frustrated*

Chris: what about her? *he said not understanding*

Justin: She is nowhere to be found man, and I'm worried about her and the baby. * I said running my hands through my hair*

Chris: Damn man, that sucks. Is there anything I can do? *He said looking at me*

Justin: Unless you can find out something from Caitlin, then no. *I said looking at him*

Chris: I'll see what I can do.

Justin: thanks man. *I said looking at him gratefully*

Chris: No problem man * he said getting up* I'll see you later * he said and then left the room*

I really hope he finds something out.

_____'s POV:

The doctor had just finished doing the ultrasound and measurements. Now she was placing another little tool on my belly.

Doctor: Let's listen to our baby's heart *She said turning up the volume on the device making the room fill up with a rhythmic luv-dub sound* there it is *she said smiling*

_____: I cant believe it. *I said as tears welled-up in my eyes.* Why is it going so fast?

Doctor: babies have a faster heartbeat than us adults which is why it sounds like it is so fast. But I can tell we have a really healthy baby

_____: Thank God! *I said wiping a tear from my cheek*

Doctor: Alright _____, everything seems in order. I will see you here next month for your next check up and we might be able to know the baby's sex. Just remember to get some rest, no stress please! *she said looking at me sternly*

____: I'll try * said with a fake smile getting up*

Doctor: alright see you next month *She said smiling*

____: Thank you Doctor.

I exited the hospital and waited for Mary to open the car. The moment I got in the car my phone started ringing and Caitlin's name popped up on the screen.

_____:Hello?

Caitlin: You need to talk to Justin PRONTO! *she said the moment she heard my voice*

_____: I guess things are not so well?

Caitlin: HE IS NOT HIMSELF_____! Chris told me he has secluded himself in his office and is taking on extra work to distract himself but he can't because he is worried about you. Chris says he has bags under his eyes. He wont even go out with the guys and you know that no matter how much work he has, he always goes. You need to talk to him.
