On Tuesday, we played line soccer, a weird version of soccer. The class is split into two teams. Each team counts their members and gives each person a number. Cards with the numbers are set out. About three cards are used at a time. When a card is pulled the people with that number (one from each team) will go out to the floor. These people will try to get a goal for their team. The only people will stand on their side of the gym in front of the bleachers. These people will be the goalies. To get a goal, the soccer ball must hit the bleachers behind the opposite team.

We split into our teams and got our numbers. Leo wasn't playing, instead, he was going to keep score.

After half of the period was over, my team had seven points and the other team had four points.

The next round started and my number was called. The soccer ball was thrown in and I went after it. So did Dom, who was also on my team. He's about a foot taller than me. I hate it. When I went to kick the ball, Dom crashed into to me.

He fell back but landed on his feet. I wasn't as lucky. Because he's so much bigger than I am, I flew back and landed on the floor, hitting my head. I rolled a couple of times before stopping.

I didn't move.

I couldn't.

The gym was completely silent, it felt like no one was there. I couldn't focus. I could barely feel the throbbing of my head and where Dom hit me when I knew there should be terrible pain. I couldn't see straight. Everything was fuzzy.

It sounded like someone was trying to talk me, but I couldn't tell what they were saying. There was a buzzing in my ear.

Suddenly, they grabbed my hand and I knew who it was.

"Leo?"

"Chloe!"

Finally, I could hear enough to know what was being said.

"Leo...everything's fuzzy..."

"Okay, Chloe. It's fine, you're fine, just stay calm like you are now."

I nodded my head and closed my eyes.

"No, Chloe. Don't close your eyes, you probably have a concussion and you could fall asleep."

"Okay."

So, I kept my eyes open as best as I could.

"Mr. Stevens is calling the hospital now. We'll get you checked out."

I felt Leo's arms go under me before I felt myself being lifted, which probably took a lot of effort. I'm not exactly the lightest person.

I was lowered into a chair, probably a wheelchair, before Leo grabbed my hand again. He's the only thing keeping me calm right now. I think I would be freaking out if he wasn't here.

Mr. Stevens started to talk to Leo and I zoned out. The silence of the gym was now filled by the whispering of everyone and there was absolutely no doubt they were talking about me.

Of course, why wouldn't they?

But, at the same time, I'm wondering why they look so worried. I'm willing to bet that more than half of them don't even care, I'm just more news for them to spread around school.

"Chloe?"

"Chloe."

"Chloe!"

I finally looked back at Leo and he told me the ambulance was here. I barely registered being wheeled to the ambulance, getting in, being driven to the hospital, and finally being looked at.

The only thing I knew for sure was that Leo's hand never left mine.

Later on, after I had slept and regained my senses, I was told that I had a concussion and that I should rest more.

"Where's Leo?"

"Oh, that young boy who was with you?"

I nodded.

"He was taken back to the school. He didn't want to go, but he was forced to. Just go back to sleep. I'm sure he'll be back."

I went back to sleep and when I woke up Leo was sitting in the chair next to the bed, holding my hand.

School must've ended a while ago.

His eyes were closed and he looked calm, but I could still see worry all over his face.

I squeezed his hand to let him know that I was awake. He looked up with a start and I immediately saw relief flash across his face.

"Chloe, I'm so glad that you're okay."

I smiled and when I went to say something, I yawned. I could see Leo wanted to laugh at that, but he didn't.

"Mmm...yeah...sorry...still kinda...out of it."

This time he couldn't contain it and let out a light chuckle. "That's fine, just relax."

I smiled again and nodded, before closing my eyes. I took a deep breath and found myself falling asleep again. Before I was fully asleep, I felt Leo let go and stand up.

However, his hand went up softly land on my cheek while he pressed his lips to my forehead.

"Goodnight, Chloe."

When I woke up, Leo was gone and my mom was in his place. They took me home and I didn't go back to school for the rest of the week.

When Monday rolled around, I was allowed to go back to school. Instead of riding the bus, my mom drove me to school. She dropped me off in the parking and left.

I started walking to the entrance when I was pulled into a warm embrace.

"Leo..."

His right hand was on my back and his left gently pushed my head into his shoulder. Without a word, he pulled back and pressed his lips to mine.

Yeah. I think I like Tuesdays and Thursdays more.
