Poetry: all the beautiful things

stormy nights and starlight

haircuts, powdered donuts, and daisies.

sunlight, pink skies, flaming sunsets.

not knowing the time. and not caring.

words so beautiful you say them aloud to see how they taste.

moonbeams, broken glass on black pavement, and dusty roses.

worn flannel, messy stitching, coloring outside the lines.

driving at night, with the windows down.

crisp, october air and crunching leaves.

white sand, bleached clouds, frayed shoelaces.

a rainbow of skin colors, each as beautiful as the last.

a new song so breathtaking you play it on repeat.

flower crowns made from dandelions because they are flowers, not weeds.
