As much as she loved playing Eliza, Pippa hated being with Lin.

She could never see pass the cockiness he had or the stupid smirks he'd show her each day of rehearsals. She thought, If I can just get through rehearsals and our performances at the Public, then it'll all be over.

But the catch was: He created the show. So these past weeks she had to at least try to be nice to the man, even if he knew how much she hated his guts.

"Soo."

"Fuck," she mumbled, realizing it was only her and the asshole left in the rehearsal room. Everyone had left earlier while she had to wait for a friend who was coming to pick her up. She quickly texted her friend to pick up her pace before turning to face the source of the voice.

"Miranda." She said, glaring at the actor who simply smirked in reply.

Pippa tried to distract herself by checking her phone to see if her friend had replied, but no, she had not.

"Aren't you pleased to see me after a long day of rehearsals?" Lin asked, taking a seat on the chair beside her.

She moved her chair inches away from him before replying. "No shit," Her tone dripped with sarcasm.

"Hey, don't get all sarcastic with me, baby. I didn't do anything to you."

"Baby?" She repeated, the pain starting to ache in her chest. "You haven't called me that since you left me for her."

Lin froze. He could feel the hurt he had felt before resurface. He fiddled with the object in his fingers. She still didn't believe him.

"Pippa—"

She cut him off with a shake of her head. Facing her back to him, she held back the tears in, the ones that fell every time she thought about him.

"You act like it didn't happen," She scoffed, looking down at the message she had finally received.

6:47 A few minutes more, Pip. Ignore him.

"You don't understand. That's all I've ever thought about, Pip. I didn't mean to let it happen—"

"So why did it happen, huh?" She turned to face him again, the tears she silently held in now streaming down her face. Lin cursed. He promised that he'd never make her cry, and now he did once again, all because of the stupid thing that happened that night.

He didn't mean for it to happen. But he felt like it was all his fault.

Their bodies were still pressed together, arms around each other. They were taking in what they had experienced that night, the memories they had made all in one day. Pippa giggled when Lin nuzzled his nose against hers. She was so happy.

"I'd be happy to have another round of fun with you, my future Mrs. Miranda." He whispered, the ring he had used to propose to her earlier by the bedside, never forgotten. She glanced at it for a bit before smiling at her fiancé who was ready to kiss her one more time.
