Roxas's and Ty's morning classes flew right by and lunch came.

Roxas met Ty at the cafeteria entrance.

"So how did the first half of your first day go?" She said with a smile.

"Schools no joke but I think I'll manage." I say with a shrug.

"That good always keep a positive state of mind!"

Ty gives Roxas a long stare, Roxas touches her face and then examines her fingers.

"What? Is there something on my face?"

"Oh! No! Sorry I was just wondering how you could be so cheery all of the time and it be so..... genuine."

But Ty knew there had to be something beneath the surface. Her smile was real but he could feel that there was something tugging at the sides, wanting to be let out.

She just looks at him and laughs.

"Well that's easy, I'm happy. There's nothing I could possibly want to change about my life. I have everything I could ever want!"

"Well good for you. Now if you're okay with it I'm starving."

"You're right, me too. What's for lunch today?"

As they walked away they heard Chase calling them, and turned around.

"Hey you guys weren't gonna wait for me?" He said panting.

"What took you so long?" Ty asked

"And why are you so out of breath?"

"My teacher wanted to talk to me after class." Chase says with his hands on his knees.

"What did you do this time?"Roxas probes.

"Nothing bad."

The three grab lunch and sit down at a table and eat.

Ty POV
After we were done eating we get up and walk out of the cafeteria. Roxas and I walk together since our classes are in the same direction.

"Hey Roxas, so I saw the basketball shoes on your bag and wanted to know if you played for the school team?"

"Oh you noticed that? Yeah I do play on the team."

"What position?"

"Center."

"No offense but aren't you a bit clumsy to be a center?"

"I'm a completely different person on the court. But since you're asking I'm gonna go ahead and guess that you want to tryout for the team?"

"Yeah I do."

"You must be dedicated if you're asking at the beginning of the year."

"Well I'm trying to get a free ride to college."

"Okay! Well this is my class, see you in math."

Roxas POV
"Cmon girl I hope you're not talking to that guy..." Jax whines at me.

"I'm not but what if I wanted to?! Y'all can't stop me. He's cute, funny, and sweet. And to make it even better he plays basketball!"

"Oh wow! He's everything a girls could ever ask for." She says rolling her eyes.

"He's better than the other guys I've talked to who just wanted to fuck and nothing else..."

"Okay so what else do you know about this new kid?"

"Nothing much. But I guess I'll find out at the basketball workouts."

"You do know that you can't figure out everything about a man by the way he plays ball right?"

"Yeah you can! The way he handles the ball is how he's gonna handle you, the way he treats his team is how he's gonna treat you, and how he loves the game is how he's gonna love you. It's simple!" I say rocking in my chair, flinging my arms and hands into the air.

"Glad to see you and Jax have a lot to say about this subject." Mrs. Patton says sternly to us with her hand on her hip.

"Sorry Mrs. Patton. Won't happen again." I whimper hanging my head.

When class ends I walk into my math class and plop down in a seat next to Ty.

"So will you be coming to the basketball workout after-school at the gym down the street?"

"Yeah I planned on it, but I thought it was just for the guys team?"

"It is." I sing with a smirk.

"Quiet everyone! Let's start class!" Our teacher boomed.
