A Lone Rogue

Chapter 5

Elise' Pov

It has been a week and we still haven't found a way to communicate with the rogue. His aggressive behavior only gets worst and we always end up with a tranquilizer to knock him out. Only Stephanie was able to approach him much to my dislike. I don't know what is wrong but I feel more snappy this past week.

Tonight I would be formally appointed as the alpha and I was excited for a reason. I was trained since little how to run this pack and tonight those hardships shall bear its fruits. I finally will be able to command anyone whichever I like.

I was currently in my room calming my nerves as I waited for the time I would be summoned. Time sure is cruel when you are bored and nervous. The more you waited, the longer time seem to pass and when you're having fun, you wonder where did all the time go. I waited for a few more and finally A knock was echoing my room.

I got up immediately and opened it just be greeted by my new beta. Francis Gomez, a classmate of mine way back in London in a few classes. He was serious and takes everything more seriously when it comes to the pack. Yeah he was a wolf maniac that could very well be useful to our pack.

"It is time Alpha" he said and bowed at me a little.

"I'll be right there. Thanks." Then I closed the door once again to look in the mirror. Nothing's a miss.. My brown hair is neatly braided. Even my eyes shows how happy and excited that it just shines naturally. Then my fair complexion was just glowing with life as I look at them. I swirled a few just to check if everything is fine.

I went out after I made sure that everything is perfect. When I made it to the venue, everyone was already there and Francis came to my side and walk beside me. He held is arm for me and I linked my arms with his. A proper escort for an alpha.

The ceremony proceeded perfectly and now everybody is enjoying the little feast we had. The music is just right for a slow and romantic dance where a few couples were already on the dance floor. Somehow I envy them finding their mate. As for me, I sadly didn't meet him today. It was my eighteenth birthday too. It would have been perfect if I found him here. My wolf whimpered and just stayed silent clearly disappointed of not finding her mate.

"How was the party my dear?" dad asked suddenly from behind while I was silently.

I nearly jumped from my position from being surprised. Am spacing out too much. "Dad! You surprise me"

"Sorry. You just seem not having fun." he stated and looked at me in eye. The same pair of emerald eyes stared back at me with concern. "What's wrong?"

I hesitated but I don't want to hide anything from my dad. "My wolf and I were just disappointed that we didn't meet our mate. It would be perfect if he was here."

He pulled me into a comforting hug and whispered to my ears. "Don't be disappointed, you never know that he might just be close."

I nodded and he pulled away to me smiling encouragingly. "Come on dear, dance with your old man."

We danced for a few songs until other members of the pack asked me to dance with them. I danced with some but turned down the later once because my feet aches already. I went out a little to get some fresh air while carrying a glass of wine.

The garden is just below me and I saw a figure sitting down in the bench alone. Judging by the size, it must be a she. I just frowned as to why is she not inside the huge venue. I went down and headed for her when I heard her talking. By the scent of it, there is only her.

"Mia will be okay.. Yeahhh..... We have a new alpha now! I hope she would be kinder to us.. I know.. Just don't give me a hard time... Who wouldn't? Your so scary!" she laughed and then I approached her while letting my heels make their sound so I can alert her.

When I was in front of her, there is indeed no one. It was Stephanie, an omega of the pack. No wonder she was not inside..

"Who are you talking with?" I asked calmly not using my alpha tone.

"No one alpha.." she bowed in respect "As you can see, I am alone in here."

"Do not Lie to me" I said with a bit of my alpha tone and she bowed lower.

"A new friend of mine. I was using the mind link." she said and I frowned. She still don't have the link of the pack. They were not yet formally been accepted by the pack. It would be my present to them later. When did she have a link?

"How did.." I was cut off midway as I sniffed a very intoxicating scent coming from her a little. It was the scent of the woods and chocolates.. It's weird but I can't describe well.

"Mate" my wolf whispered to me excitedly.

"Who were you with the last time?" I asked in Alpha tone. His scent is all over her. Don't tell me he betrayed us with an omega?

"The friend I made today Alpha." she replied meekly.

"Who is this friend?"

"He still haven't given his name alpha"

"I thought he is your friend? Why don't you know his name?" I asked confused at what is going on. "Is he the one you are talking with earlier?"

She nodded and I placed my fingers on her chin making her look up to me. Then I tilted her head a little so I can see her right side shoulder. I hope I was wrong that she got a link by being marked by my mate before I even meet him.

Luckily there is none and my confusion rose once again. Then how can she communicate with him?

"How come you can mind link him?"

"He uh... Did something himself that enabled me to talk to him." my tempter rose at the thought that she have herself at him as a means to have a special bond between them. No one shall get my mate but me!

"Where is he?!" I screamed at her face pissed as how perfect the night was and may seem to end up in a mess because of a mate that I still haven't met.

"He is uhhh.." she stuttered and I growled warningly at her. "In the prison of the pack house."

"Who?" I asked afraid of her answer. Dear moon goddess, I hope who I think is wrong.

"The wrong we held captive." she said and I froze instantly.

Oh my god.. I personally tortured my mate ever since we captured him to see if he would shift back.. Shit!

"Your joking right?" I said in disbelief.

She shook her head weakly and I closed my eyes. Just great! So much for meeting my mate.. It had to be this dramatic and messy!

"Can you speak to him freely?" I asked somehow jealous of the thought that she was able to talk to him and I can't.

"Yes Alpha. I just spoke to him a few moments ago before you came." she said and it stings. My mate doesn't even want to speak to me nor see me. My wolf whimpered more inside. She was very excited ever since I woke up this morning.

"Accompany me." I said and walked back to my car. I need to speak to him.

I drove back home with a nervous feeling. Will he listen now that I am his mate or will he even speak to me like he did with Stephanie?
