Twelfth Chapter: Uncover the Mask

"Now do you remember?" the masked man asked with anger

"You are the guy that we thought that we killed?" Sophia asked, she is dreaded by her thoughts. 

"Nonsense! That guy you're referring was dead and this is a no place for dead people" the masked man shouted which made Sophia tremble. 

"Then who the hell are you?" she asked.

The masked person removed the mask, and it was revealed that Candice was the person behind the mask

"Candice? But I thought...?" Sophia was interrupted by Candice.

"You thought, I was also killed by the masked person if I'm not mistaken. I was faking it all along, can you imagine? I paid for a man to pretend that he will kill me so you won't even recognize my real identity" Candice started to laugh with her wicked voice. 

"Why are you doing this?" For pete's sake, Sophia is now trembling with fear and her heart was broken when she found out that her best friend is the person that wants to put their life into peril and the one who loves to play tricks on them. 

She can't believe it with her own eyes, now that the masked person revealed her identity. Oh how she wanted to plead for help, but it's no use. Candice won't show any mercy. 

"Why? The person you killed, was my brother. It was Coby" she let her anger out. Her eyes were burning as fire. Her heart was solid as rock and nothing will change her decision. She is eager to kill them and make them suffer.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Sophia asked while tears kept on falling. 

"Why? Because it will ruin everything. Can’t you see I planned everything? Kean, Joe, the wake, and also setting up Paul. My ingenious plan, always work" she burst into laughter. 

"Please Candice, have mercy" she pleaded but it's futile, Candice already decided to do things on her own. 

Sophia's thought entered her mind. She was dreaded with fear as she remember Paul. She wonders where he could be at this point of time. 

"W-where is Paul?" Sophia asked. 

"Yeah, I almost forgot about him" Candice answered and she went out for a while and came in dragging Paul, his white shirt is stained with blood and mud.

"Paul?" Sophia trembled.

He woke up from deep sleep, he can't see clearly because of the impact when Candice poke his head. He felt dizzy. 

"Sophia, what is going on?" he asked, while his looking around at the dilapidated warehouse.

"Candice, she is the killer" Sophia stated and Paul was shocked to hear those words. 

"Yeah, it was me all along" Candice gave them a sweet smile.
