The pain, it was all too much, and in fact, I wanted to lay down and accept defeat, but I knew I couldn't. I had to last through the battle. My people were counting on me to lead them to glory. How could I disappoint them?
"DIE YOU CUR!" The foul words left my lips as I launched into the air, my scarlet red hair flying in the wind as my sword swung down with grace and precision. Time seemed to slow around me as I leapt for warrior after warrior, cutting them down as my army's victory cries could be heard behind me. There were cuts and gashes along my body yet every time my feet connected with the ruined earth below me, my energy soared into the heavens and I kept going.
I kept pushing on through the enemy warriors, my entire form gleaming from the sunlight hitting the blood coating my weapon and shield. It was my victory today and I could feel it. I cut through body after body, deflecting arrows left and right, slamming men with my shield and knocking them back only to kill them moments after.
The adrenaline pulsed through me when I saw their leader, and I made a beeline for him, the enemy now trying their damnedest the cut me down to no avail. I leapt into the air again, coming down hard on the man that dared to send his army into MY territory. I was about to sink my already blood-coated blade into his back when-
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BE- Thunk!
My hand came down hard on the alarm clock, making me groan. "Five more minutes." I begged to no one and was just getting comfortable when my little sister and brother barged into my room screaming happily. "Wake up wake up wake up!" The twins chanted in unison, "It's time to go to the zoo!" Again they spoke in unison, the two of them bouncing on top of me, making me grunt as I opened my eyes.
All I could see for a moment was flashes from my dream but I shrugged it off as a vivid imagination and left it at that. Once I blinked a couple times it all cleared and all I could see then were two pairs of bright green eyes staring into my shockingly blue ones.
"Guys, come on. If you want me to go wake mom up you're gonna have to get off me." I grumbled in my usual deep Morning voice. Sure, I was a girl, but that doesn't stop me from having a deep voice does it?
In any case, my brother and sister hopped off of me and allowed me to get up. Soon they were tugging me by my hands to get me out of my bed and shoving me into my own closet. "Get dressed and go wake momma up!" Elizabeth, my little sister, spoke urgently, her forest green eyes sparkled and she flashed me a bright smile and dashed out of my room with her twin trailing behind her.
As I got dressed, I thought about how I would manage to get my mother and father to get up this 'early in the morning' as they would put it. In reality it was well past ten o'clock and they were just worn out from yesterday's events.
My parents are professional party guests that were constantly being hired by big-name people so they were constantly tired from all-night parties and sometimes drinking. It wasn't their fault that their jobs required them to get drunk most of the time and I got that, I've had it explained to me several times, but I'll be damned if they aren't there for my little siblings.
My eyes flicked over my clothes as I mentally chose my outfit before reaching for the right items. A soft pastel purple t-shirt with a hood, and a pitch black pentacle on the front, reading 'WITCH' across my back. A pair of faded and frayed black shorts that looked more gray than anything else at that point with an icy blue belt. A pair of black high laced boots that went up to my knees, icy blue laces holding them together and in place.
Some said I looked like a wannabe goth chick but I just loved the color black, and I didn't really see anything wrong with wearing what I wanted. My parents didn't care and in fact they supported me on it most of the time, telling me to express myself in any way I wanted, and I always did.
