Pulling the hood off her head she walked into the bar. Her dark hair shone in the dim light and she nodded to the bartender. He looked away from her. She focused on the task. Messing this up would be the end. The end of their lives. She could not afford any mistakes. She gripped the hilt of her knife, ready for what she needed to do. She saw him sitting in a corner, slouched over a drink. He was wearing dark clothes, blending into the shadows. This should be easy. She walked up, pulling off her cloak.
"Hey lady, lookin' for something?" He licked his lips. She lunged forwards, gripping her hand over his mouth and plunging the knife into his neck. She heard a crunch and pulled out the blade. She put her cloak back on. After arranging the body, she left the bar. Cutting into an alley way she finally crumpled. Tears springing at her eyes, she slid to the floor pulling her knees to her chest. Hands shaking, she scrubbed the blood from her skin. Blood she spilt. At least she could see her family tonight. Moments were few and far between, it would be bad if they saw them together. At least she was paying off their debt. At least they had a chance. Even if killing was the only way out.
