Yomelele woke and stretched. Sleeping on a chair wasn't the most comfortable, but she wouldn't let Arida sleep on the thinnest quilt with her wounds. She looked at her peaceful face sleeping and blushed. She would do anything for her, even kill. She glanced away, and spotting the stove in the corner, got up to make breakfast. Rikki was the first to rise, their light brown hair messed up from sleep.
"Morning Mele. What's for breakfast?" She waved a bag of oats.
"We can use the rest of the milk powder! I'll help you cook" They prepared the porridge together, and Arida was the next to wake. Yomelele helped her onto a stool and gave a bowl of porridge to her. She ate quickly, trying not to move her back too much. Damnus, when he finally got up, helped her to the toilet before leaving for his job of the day with Rikki. They shook as they walked, already dreading the tasks they would have to help in. Luckily Yomelele did not have any murders for today, so she could care for Arida. 50 lashes was more than she had, and Arida had taken them all in one go. She helped her redress the wounds, trying to control her blushing. Being unable to tell Arida her feelings hurt. She would never know just how much she loved her.
After lunch they went to the market to get the left over food for meals. Arida could walk, but it clearly pained her, so they only stayed out for half an hour.
The wounds had scabbed over, but Yomelele still put on newly washed bandages. She made dinner, and waited for the others.
