"Thank the heavens!" Ren declares when we pull up in the driveway of a massive beach house that looks out onto the ocean.
Houses are all around. The closest must be Brandt and Clara since Theo and Julian are tossing a football around in the street. The other houses must be about a mile away. The town seems so closely packed that everything is within walking distance. I can already see girls a bit older than me in revealing bikini's walking past on their way home.
Fuck. I forgot to pack a bikini.

It's clear to me that Isla and Ren have a pragmatic, simplistic view to on their beach home. There are lots of windows and outdoor space. There is an open plan kitchen slash dining room. There is a secluded outdoor shower with mosaic tiles hiding it from view on the left side of the house. The shower can be accessed from a door in the bathroom. The doors are mostly snap-back to allow maximum space and fresh air. The bedrooms aren't huge. There is a master bedroom, a child's bedroom and a guestroom. The whole house is more or less aimed at only being a place to sleep, quickly prepare a small snack and read.
My room is the guest room. There is a nice queen-sized bed, cupboards line the wall my bed faces. I have a large window that looks slap-bang into the wild outdoors and the house next door. Miles is next to me and at the end of the house is Ren and Isla's room that also looks out onto the sea. They also have an ensuite bathroom .
Clara and Brandt are slightly more extravagant.
"Sol will sleep with us," Isla says as she hitches the baby onto her hip. "I think she needs a diaper change." Her short hair hangs in her face as she looks at her daughter with a heavy frown.
She grabs a diaper bag and disappears into her bedroom. Ren starts packing out the boot. Miles has already gone to his room. He has suddenly remembered about the toys he has here.
"Can I help?" I offer.
Ren motions to a bag that clearly belongs to Miles. "Of course! If you wouldn't mind taking that to the kids' room?"
