Elise Haven~

Again...for the second time I started running. Running for my life.

A huge herd of them is coming towards me. My heartbeat is thumping at fast pace.

The only thing I can hear is the wind whishing in my ear.

I turn around and ran in the corner. I started running and dodging some trash cans, it's very dark and it's hard to breath because of the tight space.

I finally see some light and saw the end. I saw a fence and climbed it up. I ended up, running in the farm-filled side of the city.

Luckily no signs of them are there but I keep running. All I can see is the fields and farm houses.

I stopped when I'm out of breath. My lungs felt like it was burning and I was sweating like a waterfall. I wiped it and put down my bags.

I looked around, no one was insight. I tiredly walked towards some random house and sat in the porch.

I can't feel my legs and everything.

I looked at my watch...11:30 A.M, my stomach growled and I sighed. All that running made me hungry.

I opened my bag and grab a sandwich. I started eating it. I looked at the sandwich which was half eaten by me and decided that I had to save some.

I know that there will be a shortage of food and it will be a risk to hunt some. I sighed and put it in my container and grabbed a water bottle.

I started drinking it and when the bottle is only half-filled with water... again...for the second time, I closed it and put it back in the bag.

I was so tired but I know I can't just sleep in here. Some of them might be in here.

I grabbed my bag and started walking. I walked and walked and walked until I noticed that I reached another city.

I gulped. I am not familiar in this place.

I started walking until I spotted a shop. I started walking in there and noticed that the door is slightly ajar.

I hesitantly opened it and walked inside. The glass windows have blood stains on it and the whole store is a mess.

But...lucky for me. I found some foods. After I finish digging through some stacks, I continued my walk outside.

The streets looked like I was back in my city. Bloody road, fleshes scattered and some...body parts (?)

I wanna vomit but I stopped myself. The only weird thing that I noticed is that...No one was around! No walkers or even some running person!

I walked and walked until I reached a subdivision. Too many beautiful houses but this is not the time to choose.

I immediately ran towards a two-storey house and opened the door. I got inside and sighed. Finally, a house.

I started looking around, some portraits still hung from the wall and everything was arranged and clean.

I walked in the kitchen and it was also clean. No signs that a walker was in this house.

But then, I heard some noise. Like...banging.

I gulped and started walking upstairs. I unsheathed my Katana as I nervously looked around.

The banging was coming from the far side of the hall.

I started walking towards it. Every step that I've made, more dread started rising in my body.

What if it wasn't a human?

Get yourself together, El

I mentally screamed and I reached the door.

I slowly turned the knob and the banging stop.

I gulped and opened the door. A loud screech filled my ears and instinct kicked in.

I slashed my katana in it's head and blood splattered everywhere. When I opened my eyes, only half of the head flew on the other side of the room.

It was a very gruesome sight and I can't bear it.

I started running downstairs until I reached the front door.

I opened it and immediately puke outside.

After I emptied my stomach, I walked inside. Not really knowing that someone's eyes were watching me...
