Chapter 23 - Symphony

Slowly and reluctantly, Caitlin uncovers her face. She blinks, closing her eyes and blinking again. Streaks of sunlight penetrate the window and blind her. She sits up, dragging her feet off the bed, and rubs her knuckles onto her eyes. She stretches her arms above her head and yawn. She watched her legs dangle above the floor. She dragged her body into the bathroom when she heard the front door open. 

For a second she stood there infront of the bathroom to listen more carefully when she remembered Bella and Nora, she briskly went out into the living room holding one of Barry's baseball bats.

"Hi" Barry stood there fidgeting anxiously.

"Um..Cisco gave me the key and told me I should come visit" He slowly walked over to Caitlin with his care free goofy smile which made Caitlin blush red.

"Yes, That's fine" She moved back when her legs hit something which made a noise.

"Mummy!! Ouch!" Nora shrieked. Her dark brown eyes look up and see's Barry.

"Daddy!!! Your Home!!" The preschooler's face beamed. Barry stood confused and turned around to see if someone was behind him.

"Sorry who?" He asked with a puzzled expression.

Caitlin casted her gaze onto the ground and her eyes darkened. She glanced back up to Barry. "I'm sorry, she misunderstood you for... someone else" her voiced broke as she spoke.

"No Mummy! No!! That is Daddy!" Nora yelled. Bella walked into the living room and gasped in surprise. She jumped up and down in happiness.

Nora went over to open a little box on the book shelf. Inside the small vintage box was a photo album. She took the white album out and hugged it against her chest while she went over to Barry.

Caitlin began feeling unsure, "Nora, what have we said about that." She crossed her arms.

Bella ran over and open the album to show Barry the pictures inside it.

His eyes widened, there were pictures from their wedding and at Bella and Nora's birth.

Caitlin rushed over and grabs the album from Barry, taking it back to the box.

"Wait. Caitlin." Barry put his hand out and grabbed Caitlin's arm. Caitlin hugging the book, lowered her gaze to avoid eye contact.

"We had twins..." Barry asked in barely a whisper.

"Yes, we did" She muttered.

Nora jumped up and waved. "Daddy, me and Bella can control our powers now!"

"What powers?" Barry turned to Caitlin.

"Caitlin, how about we catch up on what I have missed" Barry put his hand on Caitlin's shoulder.

Later they were around the breakfast table, Nora and Bella were arguing on where they should go on their birthday, which was coming up in a week.

"So girls how about we stop arguing for a second" Barry laughed. Caitlin watched Barry laugh and smiled to her self.

Caitlin described her heartache like a music of a great orchestra. At times it was quiet and allowed her to function at other times the violins would play and she would be sad. Right now there was a flute playing and she was able to remember him with fondness, that was rare though, and she enjoyed the moment. 

Ps. I am so sorry guys for not updating in such a long time! I have been pretty busy with my instagram account and school etc. I will be going on holiday this week but I will make sure I get alot of Chapters done so you have stuff to read :)
