I looked ay Al with probably, a look of longing. Here I was sitting in a giant tent staring at Al while he looked at a map of the pack land. In my lap was the "Official Book Of The Alpha Wars" book. So far I learned that the woodland God, Ikax, a giant white elk with four antlers, can decide when the battle starts. The rules of the whole thing were pretty simple.
When you loose, you don't loose your position as alpha unless your beta goes against you. The only thing you loose is half of the land you own, and if the rivaling pack likes your mate, then they get to take him/her. The final two packs can win in two different ways. The first way is to destroy the rivaling pack, and burn their flag. The other way is to find Ikax the God himself, and ask him for forgiveness. Luckily no one dies. Killing is a big no-no, however you can bring to the brink of death. Either way you end up in pain.
Seeing Al like this broke my heart. His face had a long gash start from his cheek down to his jaw line. It wasn't too deep, but it may leave a thin scar. Al's whole left arm was wrapped in ace bandages from God only knows what. His for head was wrinkled with worry, and his eyes full of rage, and pain. I can tell that he hates putting the pack through all of this misery.
Slowly I crawled over to him. I wrapped my arms around his thick shoulders, and held his head to my chest. I wish I can do more for him, and the rest of the pack. All I can do I stay here on the camp grounds. I would like to work in the medical tent, but it's too horrific. The friends, and family I made over time, were fighting for each other.
Al kissed my inner neck, "Thank you so much," he whispered to me.
"For what?" I asked him honestly.
Beta Finny came running through the tents opening, "Team C and Team A are trap...we help."
Before Al got up, and left my arms, he knelt down besides me, "For giving me a reason to live again." After that Al left running with Finny in all of his beauty.
I felt a single tear trickle down my face. I never knew that I was so important to him. His whole life revolved around me, and here I am crying like a baby. As I wiped the final tear away I saw something move along the tent. Quickly, I scooted towards the crate of weapons. The only weapon in there that wasn't bigger than me was a simple, but sharp dagger.
The shadow shimmered it's way from the sides of the tent to the front. The flaps of the front busted open. I dropped my fighting stance to see a very pregnant woman wearing our pack colors. Her curly brown hair was all frizzy, and her hazel had a tint of green in them. She looked around the tent, then spotted me.
"You," she told me her voice sound sultry, "why are you here alone?" As she asked his question her calm demeanor went out the window. Maybe her hormones are acting up?
I was hesitant to talk, "What do you mean?"
The woman's hands waved in the air, "You NEVER! I repeat, NEVER be without a partner in the Alpha Wars. This an easier way to be hurt, or worse."
How was I supposed to know that! I'm new to this whole experience!
She scoffed, "How were you suppose to know? Well, it's called common sense! That's how people in horror movies die! Because they split up."
Damn...she has a point.
"Look, I'm sorry" I tried to apologize, but her sudden actions shut me up.
Before I knew it she was in front of me with her hand covering my mouth. She sniffed the air furiously before looking around again. I saw her bare her fangs, before her eyes turned jet black. Who was she?
"They're here," she growled before dragging me to the back of the tent.
She took the dagger from my hand, and carved an exit at the back of the tent. As she pushed me outside, the mystery woman grabbed a shot gun, and a bag full of ammunition. Once again she grabbed my wrist tightly dragging me up a steep hill.
When we made it to the top the woman was gasping for, "Damn...Damn you Phineas...for getting me pregnant~!"
I gasped, "Finny is mated." I was about squealed, but she sent me a evil glare.
Pure evil bled from her voice,"Oh," she started, "He's never once mentioned me? Or the baby?"
Oops. "Oh no, no, no," I waved my hands in front f me, "I've never really got to know him like that! Maybe that's why he was so well behaved?"
Her snare turned into a smirk, "So his training did pay off after all. I'm so proud of him. When this is over he's going to get some sugar later for good behavior."
As we began to move again, I wondered about Finny's wife. She was extremely beautiful, but didn't smell like a werewolf. Besides, her boobs were bigger than mine! Most likely because of the baby, but still...
"What's your name," I asked her. First she saves me then tells me all about herself, but her name.
"Well, my name is Fox, and this little guy, Fox patted her round stomach, "is Dimitri."
I smiled, "It's nice to meet the both of you."
After I said that I felt Fox's mood shift into something positive. Her eyes shifted into a bright pink color, and she showed off her fangs with a beautiful smile. I paid close attention to her features. Something about her being a werewolf seemed to be off. Maybe she was human.
"You know how to flatter a pregnant woman don't you," Fox teased, "And I'm not a werewolf. Try werefox instead."
Then it all clicked in my head. The way her pheromones were different from mine, and the smile. This could only mean one thing,
"You're part of the White Forest Pack! I read about you in the book! It said something like any were part of the pack was a special holy being, and that Ikax hand picked you himself." I was completely shocked. How did Finny get his hands on her? Just about everyone in the pack is a devoted celibate.
Fox looked at me with her eyes filled with curiosity, but soon they were filled with worry, and pain.
"I'm sorry, Mariah but..." She started, "But I have to take you back to my pack. It's Al's orders until the Alpha wars are over."
