Hello, my name is Ryli Adams. I come from a small southern Georgia town with one of my best friends since we were like five years old. We both decided to move away from our “kid” life back in Pennsylvania. Both of us always wanted to move south and get out on our own. So for my 22nd birthday we both decided to take a leap and move on down to southern Georgia. Neither of us knew what to really expect when we got here. Yeah, I had family that didn’t live too far from where our apartment is, but we only came here for a week at a time for vacations. Neither of us knew what it was going to be like living in the south. We were so used to the snow, that not having any was a blast.
My best friend, Cassidy, has always been my shoulder to cry on. She was always there when I needed someone to talk to. She had this brilliant idea of moving away and escaping our old life. She was the type of girl who always told me to speak my mind, be honest with myself and others. I know what you’re thinking, that’s something you should have learned from your parents as a little girl. However, that wasn’t the case. You see, my parents were never really there for me as a kid or growing up. Cassidy’s family was more of a family than my own. Cassidy was more of a sister to me than a best friend, and I’m pretty sure she knows that.
We’ve been living down here for almost two years now, and I can’t believe it has been that long. Since we moved here, we really came out of our shells. We weren’t afraid to listen to the music that we loved, or read the books that we wanted, or even dress the way we wanted because we were in our own place where no one could really hurt us. We loved listening to One Direction, however in our old town, that was a “no-no.” Their music just “simply wasn’t done.” If you were listening to that music it was pretty much a shoe in for getting teased. Now that we were out on our own doing what we wanted, we didn’t care. We listened to them all the time; making dinner, getting a shower, dancing around the living room, etc.
Cassidy and I thought that when we moved here we wouldn’t know what to do for a job. Cassidy had a degree in art, and dreamed of being a graphic designer for a huge company. When we moved here, Cassidy lucked out and got the job of her dreams. She works for a huge company in Savannah. She loves her job. For me, I had a degree in education. If you have any idea on what a degree like that holds, then you know the trouble I have. I had to go about getting my certification for Georgia, which wasn’t hard just taking more tests… man do I “love” tests. After getting my certification, it was finding a job that was the “fun” part. My aunt thought she could get me in at the school she works at by pulling some strings. That didn’t quite work out for me, but all is good. Currently I am still applying for a teaching position, but for right now I am a teacher at a daycare for kids who are four and five years old (or preschool age).
Cassidy always had this huge crush on Liam Payne. Don’t get me wrong, he is totally hott, but not the one I had my eye on. I’ve always had a thing for the “unique” one in bands. The one who was always different or from a different country, which in this case is Niall Horan. The Irish accent is just a wonderful thing and it makes my heart melt instantly. We’ve always dreamed of the day that we would get to meet the boys. We’ve attended concerts but have never been lucky enough to get meet and greet tickets or just lucky to meet them on the street. Some people have all the luck.
Now that you know a little bit about us… let me update you on the situation at hand….
After a long day of work at the daycare, I came home to find my best friend sitting at the computer. At first I figured she was just doing work from home. Cassidy was the type of person who brought her work home with her. So I decided that I would go back to my room and get a shower and get ready for the rest of the evening. I went back to my room and started to get undressed while figuring out what to wear for the rest of the night. I didn’t want to wear pajamas because who knew if I would be going out or anything. I quickly decided on a pair of jeans and a shirt from my college years (which wasn’t that long ago).
