The food was enough to kill someone. It tasted horrible. Dylan almost vomited back on the plate. He looked across the room and saw that no other person ate the food. Neither did the girls. The dining room was a bit wide and high. With a television placed at the four corners of the room. When they mixed the genders up, no one wanted to associate with the other.

The teenagers were of different ages ten, twelve, eighteen. Dylan wondered why they needed these kind of children. Once they were done eating, they were all led to an open field. The place was extremely large. Probably the size of a town. He looked across his shoulders and he couldn't see his home town anywhere which made him wonder how far they had driven off from the west side of the wall and he couldn't even see the wall. This surely scared him.

Arhni recognized the man that stood in front of them. He was the man that brutally placed a bullet in that man's head. "Welcome to Day one of Survival camp. I'm your instructor, Officer Draxler". The scar on his eye showed he had been through a lot of battles. Why would they choose someone like him to instruct children. " You would be divided..." He was cut off by a boy who quickly went to his heels and raced across the field. He wanted to escape. He had gone a bit far when his life was cut short. In the blink of an eye Officer Draxler pulled out the same gun he used to end that mans life and shot. "BOOM!" The sound of the gun probably added more punch to the bullet as it penetrated through the boys head. Screams went out, different officers gathered round the boy to dispose of his body. As they brought the boy closer, Arhni peeped at the dead body and immediately broke into fright. It was Edward. The same boy that his mother begged so much for him not to go. Now he was dead. This even brought everybody to the realisation that these people didn't care about their lives.

"That's what you get if you try and escape" Draxler went on with his speech. "Now as i was saying before i was utterly disrupted, you will be divided into groups of five. You will eat together, sleep together, train together, and if you fail, you will die together." He begun to share people into groups. Fifty groups in total. Dylan then realised there were two hundred and fifty of them. But that also means if they didn't kill that boy there would be an extra person. Meaning they would have disposed of one of them anyway. It could have been him to die. Dylan tried to shake the thought from his mind.

He was told he was in group 44. When the picking was over, they were told to see their group mates and head to their dormitories. Dylan looked for anyone with 44 placed on their jumpsuit. He saw four people standing with 44 written on all their jumpsuits. "Guess they are complete" he thought. When he got to them, they all stared at him. It reminded him of his classroom with all those eyes staring at him. The group consisted of three boys and two girls. One boy approached him. He had an English accent. "Good day mate. I'm Joseph. This is Philip, Clara and Arhni." The Arhni girl didn't for once look up. Dylan already didn't  like her.

The boy that walked towards Arhni looked familiar. He was the boy that was struggling on TV. He looked cuter in person. His blue eyes complimented his blonde hair. His voice sounded really confident. But this was no time to start having feelings. Plus he didn't look like he liked her. "My names Dylan. Nice to meet you". " Welcome to team 44" Joseph said. Joseph looked happy to be here. He smiled as he talked. "We are going to have to have to work together if we want to live through this". His accent made everything sound so easy. It pissed Dylan off. "Why the hell are you so chill about this. You do realise that we could die" Philip said. A dark skinned guy. Taller than anyone else there. Dylan was lucky he said it and not him. "Well I'm just trying to make the best of our situation." "Make the best of what" Dylan decided to talk. "The fact that we've been pried from our homes and families to be forced to survive. There's no best of our situation!" Clara tried to cool them down but they were too furious too listen. Philip walked out on them and Clara and Joseph tried to calm him down leaving Dylan and Arhni alone. "So what's your take on this" Dylan asked her. Silence was her answer. "Hey, you don't talk?". Silence. "As he was about to touch her she grabbed his hand and said " We've been forced to be in the stupid group so why don't we stay out of each others way and we'll get along." Dylan was shocked at her grip strength so he pulled his hand and walked away. Arhni wanted to say she was sorry, but she decided not to. At least for her time here, she wanted people to fear her. It would make things a whole lot easier. It didn't.
