Arhni - pronounced Anne by some of her friends - was the average lower class teenager. Brunette hair, brown eyes, a face not too small not too big but added a certain beauty to her. She wasn't chased down by the neighborhood boys that would die for her but she was finer than most. As she munched on her breakfast, cereal with a bit stale bread, she stared at the TV that was showing a report on the recruitment of teenagers to join the army. She wasn't too interested in it because the dictator announced that only the eastern side of the wall would be used for recruitment and luckily for her she lived on the western side. The bread tasted a bit sour so she decided to abandon it. It was ten in the morning, already an hour past school and she hadn't left the house. Arhni's dad died when she was two and her mum was a die hard cocaine addict. Arhni even took the liberty of getting the drugs for her mum provided it kept her alive.

As she stared at the news reports of the children leaving he saw the officers putting brown sacks over the children's faces. One boy was struggling with them. Blonde hair, blue eyes, he wore clothes only an upper class individual would wear. As she was leaving the house, she glanced at the name written on the sack in bold handwriting, Dylan.

Her street was quiet at this time of the day. She would know because she's lived there through out her life. She didn't really like it but what could she do. As she walked a few blocks from her house, she saw her friend Esther exiting her house with her bright pink bicycle. Esther and Arhni had a lot in common, brunette hair, brown eyes, not to mention a broken home, but their faces were different. Esther had more of a longer face. "Hey Arhni" Esther's voice always brought a smile to her face. They both walked down the street mostly talking about the most recent stupid things their parents had done without realising what was going on. There was a loud scream that broke through the house across the street from where they were. It was then they both realised there was a camouflaged truck parked on the road. "Don't take my son, please!" An elderly woman was begging three muscular men dragging what looked like a fourteen year old boy. Arhni knew him, Edward, they usually hung out and that's what scared her the most, she knew him. As the men came out Esther made a big mistake. She stared at them right in the eyes drawing attention to herself.

"Hold it right there!" One of the officers screamed. And immediately Arhni grabbed Esther's hand and ran. They ran faster than their legs could carry them abandoning the glossy pink bike on the way. It was easy for Arhni to manoeuvre over obstacles, she played football for the school team so she was fit. Esther on the other hand found it hard. She eventually tripped over a rock and fell down. "Ahh!", she screamed falling to the ground. She had sprained her ankle. Arhni heard her scream and saw her in pain on the ground. She tried to get up but it hurt her so bad. One of the officers approached them and he was closing in fast. She didn't know why she did what she did...but she did it. She ran toward the man and with all the might in a sixteen year old girl, she speared him. Her brute strength alone couldn't do anything to him but there was a rock coincidentally waiting for him to trip over. As she struggled with him she shouted, " Esther get out of here!". Filled with fear but also adrenaline, she stood up and half limped half ran into an alley. Eventually the officer suppressed Arhni and dragged her to the truck where Edward was sitting in the back seat with a bag over his head with Edward written boldly on it. The officer who appeared to be higher in rank asked "where's the other girl?". " She escaped" the other officer answered with a trembling look on his face. What happened next Arhni could never forget it. He pulled out a Magnum PU and shot him straight in the head. Blood splattered all over Arhni's face. He then approached her and asked her for her name. What just happened had stunned her so she didn't talk. He then begun slapping her until he tore her skin on her face but she refused to talk. He then grabbed a marker and drew a question mark on the sack and as he was about to drop the sack on her head, Arhni saw her mum staring at her through a window with tears running down her face. As the sack dropped over so did a tear from Arhni's eyes.
