Avery's POV-
Yesterday's training session is stuck in my mind. How Harry got jealous and then asked me to be with him. I sigh when I think of the events that happened right after that and how horrible this 'Ryder' guy must be.
I start my day off just like yesterdays except without Harry jogging with me. I take my time running to the academy today and don't feel as tired as I did yesterday.
My mind is clear today so i simply focus on the music blasting into my ears. As I approach the academy my legs start to burn from the long run and I slow down until I'm walking. My phone reads 9:00 and I realize that I'm going to be late even if I sprint inside.
I burst throught the doors and thankfully everyone is still talking to one another meaning that we haven't started yet. I scan the room for Harry but he isn't here yet, and by the looks of it neither is Ryder.
"Avery, over here." I glance over in the direction that my name was called from and see Paul waving me over to a group of people.
"Hey, what's up?" I question.
"I want you to meet a few of my friends. This is Lauren, Alex, and James." He points to each one and they wave at me as their names are called.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Avery." I smile back at them and we begin to talk.
The first one to talk is James, he's average height with brown messy hair and has deep brown eyes like Pauls. " So, I heard this Ryder guy is a total jackass, he was ban from training because he almost beat this kid to death." I shudder and face the door when it slams closed.
The room goes silent and in walks a man with Blonde hair and piercings in his face. My eyes can't help but to scan his arms which aren't visible do to the countless tattoos that cover them. His strong build makes him double my size and extremely intimidating. It has to be Ryder.
Behind him Harry walks in with grim look on his face and tense jaw.
"Trainees, get in line." Ryder screams and everyone scrambles to form a line facing him.
"I am your new head of training. My name is Ryder and I have a very short temper so don't piss me off. Before we begin I want to lay out the new rules, the new starting time is 6AM if you are late I will fail you and you will not become a demon hunter. We will train from 6AM to 6PM and if I hear one complaint ever I will personally throw you out of this gym with my own bare hands. Are we clear." He say loud enough so everyone can hear.
"Yes, Sir." Everyone says in unison.
"Also," He walks so close to me I can feel and smell his breath on my lips. "I don't pick favorites." He spits in my face and backs up.
Everyone stands around stunned by the sudden change of authority. I hold my breath and glance over at Harry who's hands are in fist clenching, making his pale knuckles even whiter.
"What the fucking hell are you waiting for? Start warming up!" Ryder screams and everyone scrambles again.
I begin to stretch my legs and Harry walks up behind me.
'He is not just talk Avery, you need to be careful. He has strength just like Liam and can crush your skull just by tapping your head.' Harry says in my thoughts.
I nod my head and continue stretching until Ryder calls us to the middle of the gym.
"Today we are going to do something a little different. I want girls and boys to split up, boys on the left side, girls on the right."
