Jaime dragged me along behind him, swivelling us through crowds of incredibly drunk people. I already wanted to be out of there. First of all, the music was terrible, it sounded so computerized and I hated that. I much preferred music that contained real talent, not just a few buttons pressed on a machine. Not my cup of tea.
"I don't like this, Hime!" I practically shouted over the ear-piercing music.
"You love it! Good boy! That's what I want to hear!"
The frustration that came with being Jaime's best friend was intense, and in all honesty, I didn't know if it was worth it. Ha. Joking. Of course it was worth it! I loved Jaime, but damn...he wasn't a very good listener.
I rolled my eyes as I tried my hardest to keep up with the boy. He was fast when he wanted to be. There were so many people! Trying to count them would be as pointless as trying to count the stars in a cloudless night sky. A sudden stop in Jaime's movement caused me to stop too, looking up to see what was going on. Wow. Here we go.
"We hit the jackpot, Kells." Jaime sighed, pretty much drooling over all the half-naked girls in front of us, drinking like there was no tomorrow.
"Ahem, if you haven't noticed, like if I haven't told you before, I'm sort of gay so..." My argument was obviously invalid.
"Well I'm not. Call me if you need me, brother. Go get some!" He encouraged, patting my shoulder and walking over confidently to the college girls.
Wow. Drag me here and then ditch me. Real nice, Preciado. Real nice.
"Jaime!" I called desperately, but he was already weaving his web of teenage boy douche bagginess.
"Okay then. Come on, Kells. You can do this. Just talk to someone. Anyone." Me talking to myself wasn't a great start at all, and of course somebody just had to hear me being a little weird fuck. Oh and about the swearing, I know I told you I didn't cuss and I wasn't lying about that, my thoughts were just terrible.
"Well, you can talk to me if you like, handsome." I darted my head around to see a tall looking blondie, that would probably be deemed 'sexy' in the hetero world. She started walking closer to me, causing me to back myself up against a wall. Then something caught my eye, something amazing. Over in the corner of the room, stood a beautiful looking man. Tan, toned and could damn right be deemed 'sexy' in the homo world. And I was apart of that world.
I really didn't realise I was staring so intensely until he looked up at me, smiling a little. Blushing, I looked away, re-focusing myself to the devastating situation that was taking place before me. I was getting hit on...by a girl.
"Let's have some fun baby." She whispered, guiding my arms around her waist. Jesus Christ.
I cleared my throat awkwardly and looked away, noticing the guy from before, who was smirking at me, looking like he was trying to hold back a snicker. Without intention, I mouthed the word 'help' over the blonde's shoulder, trying to look as casual as possible. He burst out laughing and straightened himself out, wiping away what was assumingly a tear.
When I looked back to her, my thoughts were cut off completely by the girl crashing her lips onto mine hungrily. Oh gosh...she was definitely barking up the wrong tree...none of this felt right at all. Before I had the chance to pull back, I felt her being pried off of me.
I looked up to see that same beautiful man from before, a sassy yet furious look on his face.
"Oh girl you did not! Why are you kissing my boyfriend?" He shrieked. Oh he was a great actor. Wait...boyfriend? Oh my lord.
His eyes met mine angrily and he grabbed my forearm forcefully.
"And what do you think you're doing, Joe? Kissing strangers?" His facial expression told me to play along, so I did, as convincingly as I could.
"Oh my gosh, babe I'm so sorry! It's not what it looks like!" I pleaded, trying my absolute hardest not to break into laughter.
"Damn right it's not!" He sassed back. "We are going home! Right now!"
I nodded, a little too eagerly at his suggestion. The girl just stood there, too shocked to do anything else.
"And as for you! If I ever see you eying Josh here again. I'll cut you!" He screamed, girlish as hell.
"Josh? I thought it was Joe." She eyed me suspiciously. Damn it stranger!
"I didn't say Josh! Let's go!" He lied easily, pulling me along after him. As soon as we made away from the girl, he let go of me and broke into a fit of giggles.
"Oh my god! Thank you so much!" I laughed, bringing my hands to my face.
"No problem, buddy. I had to do something, you obviously weren't interested." He replied. "Damn I like Michigan. Pretty great! Anyway Joe...Josh, whatever your name is, I'm Vic." His laugh sent tingles down my spine as I chuckled awkwardly.
