Chapter Two

I told my mom all about what happened at school with Jaime and Dahvie. All she could say to it was 'don't worry baby, there's some fire in you somewhere.'
Maybe she was right, maybe there was something deep down inside me, like a trigger...and once it was pulled, my masculinity would finally shape me out. Puberty hadn't done me any favours yet, even though my mom begged to differ. She always told me how cute I was, and how the boys must be dropping at my feet...but she was so wrong. Yes, she knew I was gay and yes, she supported me. I had just wished things could have worked out with both parents...but that's a story for another time.

Today was a new day. A new day that consisted of my favourite subject; Music. Sure, I was good at the basics, like Math, English, Science, etc. But I didn't necessarily enjoy them. Music on the other hand, it took me to a whole new planet in a way of providing me with, to an extent, a diverse perspective on everything. My teacher, Mr Biersack always told me I had the potential to do great things with my music career, but I wasn't so sure.
I walked into the school gates, alone for that matter, and made my way to my first class; Calculus. It sucked without Jaime there and seemed to drag on forever, but when it did end, I was finally on my way to Music.

I took a seat beside some kid and waited for the class to start. Little did I know, that kid was about to start talking.
"Hi. Sorry for bothering you, but I'm new and I'm hopeless at organising myself...do you mind if I borrow a pencil?" I looked a him and smiled, trying not to take note of how cute he was.
"Sure." I handed him a pencil and decided that at this point, it would be rude not to introduce myself, but he beat me to it.
"Thanks. I'm Oliver." He smiled shyly, extending a hand.
"Kellin. Nice to meet you." I replied, accepting his friendly gesture.
"Likewise." His brown hair complemented his orbs in a perfect fashion, I found myself slightly attracted to him in a near instant.

"Well what brings you to Michigan?" I asked, smiling warmly.
"Oh well actually I have just moved from Britain. I have a girlfriend up here so I decided that I'd move for her." He shrugged.
I could tell he was from the UK, as I found myself fixated on his thick accent.
Wow. Hopes and dreams...crushed. He wasn't gay. Oh well, I suppose there were other fish in the sea.

"Nice, nice." My reply was short yet sincere, I tried my hardest to contain my radiating devastation. The conversation stopped there as Mr Biersack's voice cut through the classroom banter.
"Alright class we have a new student. Say hello to Mr Oliver Sykes, sitting beside Kellin over there. Great to have you here Mr. Sykes."
Oliver nodded in an overly appreciative fashion.
"Great to be here. And for the record, Oli is perfect."
Mr Biersack nodded and went back to talking.
"I need your notebooks out."

Oli, myself and the rest of the class complied with the directions, taking out our notebooks and setting them on our desks before us.
All eyes were on Oli as the two girls in front of us, commonly referred to as the 'cheese platters', (not by myself of course), began looking him up and down, giggling.
I know what you're thinking. Cheese platters? Why cheese platters? Well you know how at a party there are trays of cheese and crackers that get passed around and practically everyone eats from them? Just imagine those cheeses as girls.

You get me? In simpler terms, they were sluts. Harsh, I know. I didn't and would never refer to them as such, but that was how society saw them. Their names, ones well known around the school; Taylor Momsen and Ashley Costello. Taylor was sort of an instigator, I was almost one hundred percent certain she liked the attention. Especially the sexual attention she received from none other than Dahvie, who had in rumour, popped and thoroughly used up her once virgin cherry. Ashley, she just took it as it came. Well that sounded more dirty than I intended it to. I could tell she didn't quite love the attention, but she didn't hate it either. Jayy, Dahvie and several other high school fuck heads had tried their luck with the girls, and easily succeeded. That's why they were known as the 'cheese platters.'
They didn't necessarily like music either. They just chose the subject because, in all honesty, Mr Biersack was a sight for sore eyes.
Oli shrugged off the attention from the girls quite easily, most likely being because he was a loyal boyfriend...good boy.
"Okay class your assignments are due by the end of next week. I want to see a pass from everyone! No slacking!" Biersack concluded, looking back to the papers in front of him.
I nodded in understanding. Very soon, the lesson was underway, and in all honesty, I did not want it to end.
