Goth smiles down at Palette's face, knowing very well that this could be the last time he sees his lover. Goth let out a shuddering, unneeded breath as he tried to swallow up the tears that escaped him. Before he knew it, a fluffy feeling filled his skull and his vision went spotty. His fingertips dissolved and Palette hit the ground, a soft groan coming from him as he began to regain consciousness. Goth kissed Palette's forehead before disappearing, his clothes settling on the ground.
A couple minutes passed before Palette sat up a throbbing pain assaulting every bone. But he stopped cold, his breath stolen as he saw Goth's clothes. Bloodstained and battered his scarf lay crumpled at Palette's side. Palette doesn't know how long he was sitting there staring at the scarf. But did it really matter?

Ink was scanning the multiverse for his son, sighing heavily as he left yet another universe. Dream was speaking with Core Frisk to see if they have seen Goth and Palette. It had been hours since they left, 22 to be exact. Almost an entire day. Ink knew that his son was a big boy now, but he was to overprotective to care. Ink stumbled into OuterTale, preparing himself for the potential fight as he saw the glitchy skeleton in front of him. "Hey Error!" Ink shouted approaching his nemesis. "Error!" Error's phalanges dug into the ground as he tried his hardest to ignore Ink. "Error, buddy," Ink whispered, placing a hand on Error's shoulder. As a result the skeleton jumped, wrapped blue strings around Ink's legs and dangled him in the air. "Touch me again and I'll beat you like a piñata." Ink giggled at the threat, Error growling when the guardian didn't quiver in fear. "Did you learn that from UnderNovela?" Error sputtered, blushing as Ink's laughing only grew louder. "Shut. Up." Error sighed, "What do you want anyway?" Ink gathered his composure, still upside down and spoke. "Goth and Palette have went missing." Error scoffed at that, "And I should care why?" Ink thought for a moment before replying, "Because you're a nice person?" Error laughed so hard that Ink fell to the floor, blue string shaking with his laughter. "Oh that- that's funny." "Error please. I'm begging you, just help me and everyone out this once and. I-I." "You'll do what Ink? What could you do that will make me help you--" "I'll tell you the location of the real Doodle Sphere." Error started. "You'll what?" "What do you mean what?" "You just said you tell me where it is." "Where what is?" "...Where the-- oh never mind, I'll help ya, you dork." Ink smiled and ran toward Error, hands outstretched for a hug. "Thank you--!" Error grabbed the guardian's arms with his strings, stepping away from Ink. "Woah there short stack, no physical contact, remember?" Ink smiled awkwardly. "Oh yeah. Oops."

Dream sighed as Core Frisk confirmed his fears. Even they haven't seen them. They see everything. That's when he felt it, a soft ping rose from his pocket. It must've been from the inter-dimensional phone Alphys had made for him. Dream checked it almost crying in relief before he read the rest.*Come 2 me in OFell, Need ur help, G isnt here
Dream squinted. That doesn't make sense.
^What do you mean Goth isn't there?
*He isnt here Dtesm
*Dream
^On my way.
Dream stuffed his phone in his pocket, said his goodbye to Core Frisk and made his way to OuterFell.
Ink sighed heavily, eyeing Palette worriedly. He hadn't spoken or even looked away from the scarf. Goth's scarf. If something happened to Goth, how was he gonna explain it to Geno and Reaper. Oh stars. Reaper. Ink snapped to attention when Palette covered his eyes. "Buddy you okay?" Palette didn't answer. Instead he just curled up, silent. Ink stayed quiet as well, pulling Palette close to him.
Palette felt the broken piece's of his heart fall apart even more the longer he looked at the scarf. When he finally managed to cover his eyes, all his strength was gone, and he felt worse than the time he had slapped Goth. There was a terrible pain in his chest, and it stabbed him with every shallow breath he took. Palette's mismatched eyes, which were taking to a somber color, darted up as he was pulled close to Ink. Despite everything, he still couldn't cry, everything hurt, physically and mentally, and poor Palette just wanted it to end.
Thankfully, he fell into a half-sleep, sparing him the pain of the past event for an hour or two. Dream stumbled through a soft warm light, landing awkwardly in his panic. "I'm sorry, I ran into..." He stopped, glaring at Error before noticing Ink and Palette. Dream tip-toed over timidly, sitting down next to the two. Palette jumped when the new presence pulled him from his comfortable, murky haze. Ink opened an eye-socket, the magenta star honing in on the other. "Oh hey Dream, did ya come to chill with us?" Ink murmured. Dream tried to keep his attention to the scarf laying a few feet before him, and succeeded. "Uhm, no? You said you needed my help?" Dream whined, confused even more when Ink let out a soft chuckle. "It was a joke." Dream blushed and looked at the ground. "O-oh, of course." Diverting the attention back to Palette, Dream started, "Hey, Pal, are you alright?" Palette smiled awkwardly and stopped. "E-erm--" He took a breath, looking down at the ground to stop the world from spinning. "No-? N-no." Palette covered his face, and let out a deep, shaky sigh. Ink pulled his son into another warm, paint smelling hug. In an instant, Ink was standing, holding Palette bridal style. Palette's breath hitched for a moment before he relaxed slightly, saying, "I ca-can walk b-by my-myself." Ink gazed at him with a skeptically. "Ya sure? You're looking a bit wobbly there bud--" "Mom, please. P-put me down." Ink raised his theoretical eyebrows and set Palette down, his gaze dripping with worry. "You wanna hold my hand at least?" Palette looked at Ink's outstretched hand for a moment before nodding almost unnoticeably. Ink held Palette's hand with care, but strength as Dream agreed to meet them in HeavenTale. "You're gonna be fine buddy. I promise." The two dissolved into ink, disappearing from the starry au in seconds. Everything is going to be fine. He promised.
