A blistering January morning brought the bitter cold to New Jersey.
A high school student by the name of Jeremy Heere shuffled to school with a crowd of his own fuming hormones. He kept his hands shoved deep down into the thin pockets of his jacket, not caring if they froze. He puffed warm air into the frigid sky in a wind of cloudy breathe. His feet shoveled bits of frost-bitten dirt that littered the side walk. His smile that was usually plastered onto his face, wasn't there this time round'. He felt like shit.
Today Jeremy was having second thoughts, about everything. His popularity, his friend choices, his girlfriend! But what he regretted most was that squip. Jeremy wished with all his soul that he could go back in time to tell himself that he would ruin everything good he had, if he took it! Sure he was popular now, and he didn't get bullied or harassed, but being popular was way worse.
Jermey had to spend an hour and a half of his morning picking out an 'okay' outfit for school! He had to spend hours looking in the mirror telling himself everything was okay. But it wasn't. It wasn't going to be okay anytime fucking soon.
As Jeremy slumped to school his food hit something almost unnoticeable. A small piece of printer paper lay on the cold side-walk. At first Jeremy had no interest, but a bright red jacket on the paper caught his eye. He eyed it, before begrudgingly picking it up.

I'f found please call ###-###-####It was a missing persons poster for Michael.
Tears slowly started to burn the edges of Jeremy's eyes. Michaels sweet hearted ma probably had put these up, but how long ago?
A single tear lead a trail of fire down his cheek, as a parade of them fallowed close behind. Soon enough Jeremy was leaning over a bench, his shoulders hunched over, and his back bobbing up in toon to his sobs. How had he not seen these? How could he be so blind as to not care where his best friend was? "What the hell is wrong with me", Jeremy cried out softly into the palm of his hand, to tame his wild wails of pain.
With trembling hands Jeremy turned the paper on its back to reveal another scribble of letters. He read aloud "if not found by January 6th Michael Mell will be-" Jeremy let out another sob. "W-ill be pro--calmed dead." How could this happen?! January 6th was in a three days! Jeremy wiped his eyes and sniffed loudly "they'll find him, I know they will," that was such a god damn lie, he didn't even know who 'they' would be. But nevertheless Jeremy crumpled up the paper and shoved it into this backpack pocket. "Everything will be okay," Another lie.

It was 7th period, and the last one Jeremy had to attend. Now usually most people are exited about their last periods right, it marks the last hour of school. But for Jeremy, it's part of the depressing puzzle that made school shit.
In Jeremy's 7th period class there were only 12 people, a bunch of nobodies and then Jake and Rich. Now again most people would think since Jeremy was popular they would be best friends, but no. Rich...he was alright, him and Jeremy didn't talk but they had each other's back at least. But it was Jake that made it hell.
Sure he was popular, but Jake still made an effort to tease Jeremy. Usually Jeremy would laugh and brush it off, but today he was on the edge. He was going to break.
"So tall-ass whats is like with your head in the clouds?" Jake made an extremely dumb yet snarky comments as Jeremy gazed at Michaels missing-persons flyer. He didn't respond, he was to busy staring at the inc bloated chocolate eyes of His player 2 on the paper. "Hey tall-ass I'm talking to you," Jake raised his voice before getting scolded by the teacher and earning a slight snicker from Jeremy.
Jake sneered in response ripping the paper away from the taller boy.
"You think that's funny," Jake whispered "I'll give you something to laugh about." Jeremy froze out of fear looking around to see Rich bob his head in dismay. "Wow" jakes husky teen voice caused Jeremy to turn his head. "You really miss this loser?" There's that word again loser.
Loser, loser, loser. That word was cancer to Jeremy, that's what caused michael to disappear. It was his fault...he was the loser. "Don't call him that," Jeremy gritted his teeth and clinched his fist. Jake laughed, "the hell would you do...oh wait nothing." He cackled again before throwing the paper back at Jeremy.
The crumbled paper fluttered to the floor. "I'll find you Micha...I promise." Jeremy crossed his heart internally before gracefully lifting the paper to his desk, and guided his eyes back to the lesson.
Jeremy was going to find Michael, that was a promise.
