Ophelia's POV
I sit on my bed, twirling around Leo's katana. I've had it for about two days now, and I love it more every minute I have it. No, I don't go killing people with it. I just admire it. Whoever this "Leo" is, he's gonna have a hard time convincing me to give his katana back.
I walk into the living room, still holding the katana. I lay the sword down on the kitchen counter and head to the fridge to make myself breakfast. Another Saturday alone. I sigh and pull out some Eggo waffles. I pop them in the toaster oven and go turn on the TV while I wait. I put the news on and see Carlos Chiang O'Brien -click- Gambe reporting a story about another robbery by the Purple Dragons. I roll my eyes. I really hate those guys. They think they're invincible, when half their little group gets arrested every day.
I hear a 'ding!' and realize my waffles are done. I get them out of the toaster oven and sit back down on the couch. I munch happily on my waffles and continue to watch the news. One of my favorite newscasters, Charity Stark, comes on the TV. Charity Stark is the mom of my friend Amelia Stark. Charity is so nice and like another mom to me. Charity starts reporting a story that quickly catches my interest.
"And now, a breaking story that is shocking New York. Scientists everywhere are going missing. The men and women never arrive back home, and some having been missing for weeks. Police are searching for any signs of murders, kidnappings, or suicides. Some even think there are lab accidents that are killing off the scientists. Keep watching Channel 6 News for more information on these mystery disappearances." I freeze, the remote pointed at the TV. Scientists are going missing?! Oh no. Dad. I practically throw myself at my phone and call my dad. 3 rings...5 rings...11 rings...
"Hello. This is Mr Caverly. I can't answer your call right now. Leave a message." I leave a voicemail for my dad, telling him to call me back as soon as he can. Next I call Calypso.
"Hey Ophelia, what's up?" she asks, and I take a deep breath before speaking.
"Calypso, I think my dad is in danger."

After we hung up, Calypso rushed right over and we called my mom. Luckily, she answered since she was on a lunch break. I told her about the news story, and she promised to call my dad. She said she would take the whole day off calling him, and even going to the lab if she had to. I thanked her and hung up.
"Don't worry. She'll get in touch with him. Everything'll be fine." Calypso reassures me. I smile gratefully and hug her. Before I know it, she's wiping away tears that I didn't even know I was crying. I sniffle and hug her again, crying into her shoulder. Luckily, she's wearing an off-the-shoulder shirt, so I wasn't soaking her shirt with my tears.
"Shh, Ophelia, we don't even know if he's in danger. He could be perfectly safe, and maybe he just can't get to his phone, or his battery died."
"You're right. His phone probably died." I say and take a deep breath. I walk into the kitchen and grab some snacks for Calypso and I.
"Hey, why don't we have a little sleepover tonight? Ya know, to have fun and get your mind off things." Calypso says.
"That's a great idea!" I say, and pull out my phone to call my mom for permission. She says it's ok so I call four of our other friends. Amelia, Delia, April, and May. Amelia, Delia, and I actually all became friends because of our rhyming names in first grade. April and May are sisters, and I met them in first grade too. We've all been best friends since then and hang out all the time.
About 10 minutes after I call everyone, April and May show up and set their sleeping bags up in the living room. Soon Amelia and Delia show up and set their stuff up, too. We all get comfy and start a Disney movie marathon. By the way, we're all total Disney addicts. The first movie we watch is Pirates of The Carribean: The Curse of The Black Pearl. After that, we end up watching the rest of the Pirates of The Carribean movies, then Up, then Beauty and The Beast, then The Little Mermaid, then Brave, and then a whole bunch of other Disney movies. I swear we watched almost every single one. We stayed up for a long time, and eventually all fell asleep.
