Ok, so from now on, the first comment gets a dedication...has to be a nice comment, though! :)
Ophelia's POV
The next morning, I wake up and go to school, just like any other normal day. But now that I have this new secret in my life, I know nothing will be the same. I meet up with April at lunch, and we sit alone so we can talk about the turtles.
"So we're gonna go to the lair today after school, ok?" I ask April as I eat my salad.
"But I'm supposed to tutor you in math after school today, Ophelia." April says and I stop stabbing my salad with my fork and look at her.
"Can't you tutor me in the lair? Please, April, I really wanna go see the turtles today." I say and stick my lip out in the best pout I can manage. I can see April trying to resist my puppy dog look.
"Ugh...fine. You only met them yesterday and you're already obsessed with them." April says as she bites into her sandwhich and laughs.
"I'm not obsessed! I just think it's cool that we have...friends like that." I say, lowering my voice at the end of my sentence.
"Yeah, they're pretty cool guys." April says, and we can't continue the conversation any longer because the rest of our friends plop themselves down at our table.
"Hey guys!" Calypso calls out to us as she places her tray of food on the table and sits down. Following her are Amelia, Delia, May, and Casey. They all sit down at our table and start eating. I sigh internally. I love having my friends sit with us, but I had wanted to keep talking about the turtles with April.
"So, are you guys free this afternoon?" Delia asks and April and I look at each other.
"I...um...have to tutor Ophelia today, so we can't do anything for too long." April explains and all our friends nod.
"Ok, we were thinking of heading to the mall if you're up for it." Delia says and I take a bite of my salad.
"Yeah, sure, we'll be there. We'll just have to leave early so we can get to tutoring." I say and Delia looks at me suspiciously.
"Why don't we all study together? That way we can all leave together." Delia says and I look nervously at April.
"Sorry, Dels, but we're going to the library. We need to have some peace and quiet while studying, and you guys are not quiet." April says and we all laugh at her statement. It's true, my friends are all very loud, except maybe April. But hey, that's why I love 'em.
Soon the school day ends. I felt like it rushed by in 5 minutes. Before I knew it, April and I were running out of school and towards the alley. We stopped at a manhole, and looked around for any people. Once the coast was clear, we opened the manhole and stepped down the ladder, April pulling the manhole cover closed behind us.
"Ugh, I don't ever think I'll get used to the smell." I said as I covered my nose and mouth with my purple sweater sleeve. April laughed and we continued walking through the sewers to the lair.
"Hey guys!" April called as we entered the main room of the lair. The turtles, however, were nowhere to be seen. April and I shared a confused look. April walked into Donnie's lab and I walked into the dojo. Splinter was sitting on the floor, meditating. I sat crosslegged next to him and waited for him to finish. As soon as I sat down, he seemed to notice me and opened his eyes.
"Hello, Ophelia." he greeted me with a warm smile.
"Hello, Splinter. Are the turtles here?" I asked.
"They are out observing the Foot Clan. They should be back any-" he was cut off at the sound of four teenage mutants talking loudly. I hear Mikey say, "Hey April! What's up, dudette?"
"It seems they have returned. Go ahead and say hello." Splinter said. I nodded and said goodbye, then walked back into the main room of the lair, where April and the turtles where.
"Ophelia!" Mikey called when he saw me. He ran over and gave me a bear hug. A super tight bear hug.
"Hey...Mikey...can't...breathe..." I croaked out as my lungs were being crushed in Mikey's bear hug.
"Hey, doofus, you're killing her!" Raph said as he yanked Mikey off me.
"Thanks...Raph..." I said, trying to catch my breath.
"No prob." he said and nodded at me.
"Sorry, dudette, didn't mean to hurt you! I just got excited!" Mikey exclaimed and I laughed.
"It's all good, Mikey." I said and the turtles, April, and I went to go watch TV. After about 10 minutes of watching 'Space Heroes', a high-pitched beeping rang through my ears.
"Uh, guys...do you hear that beeping?" I ask. Leo pauses the show and we all listen. Then Donnie runs into his lab.
"Guys! We have a problem!" he calls to us. We all run into his lab to see a giant white ball lighting up with pink patterns. That's also the source of the beeping.
"Guys...the Kraang communication orb. It's active. This is a problem."
Yay! Chapter 2! Sorry I haven't updated in forever, but I just got a new Mac for Christmas, so now I have a new computer that I don't have to share with my dad, which means I'll be updating (hopefully) more now! So, lemme know what you guys thought of Chapter 2 and I'll see ya soon! ~Marissa
