When the lady who ran the in-between world spoke to him, he had expected her to tell him off but surprisingly, she was very nice and that only made him feel worse! This was the result she wanted from him, and she asked him if there was anything he wanted to say to her or any requests he wanted to put forward that she could bring up at the next panel meeting she had with God or the Big Guy as George had known him.
"Yes there is," he answered truthfully, "I'm sure that by now, you already know how ashamed I'm feeling and I would like the opportunity to put things right! I know that all the things I did were wrong and I would like access to my victims heaven so that I can make it up to them, I haven't quite figured how yet, but I'm sure that once I've spoken to them all, I will think of something I can do!"
"Well, George," the lady said, "admirable as that sounds, I'm not sure that God will allow it, but I will put your request forward when I see him later on, and mark my words, I hope for your sake he says yes!"
Hours and hours later, George was sat on a bench, looking out over an endless sea, when he saw a man coming towards him, somehow, he wasn't quite sure how, he knew that it was God! When God sat down next to him, he didn't speak for quite a while, but then he said, kindly, making George feel even worse,
"I'm going to grant you access to your victim's heaven, George for three days, got that? Three days, if by the end of that time, you haven't come up with a way to make it up to them all, you will have to remain here... forever!"
"I understand, sir," George said, "thank you!"
