The Lovely Bones... continued

Heaven

When George entered heaven, the first thing he could see was a tree and children dancing around it! He walked nervously up to them and they stopped and looked ay him in fright! He held up his hands to try and calm them and told them not to be frightened, he came in peace! The first child he spoke to was Susie.

Susie looked at his outstretched hand and somehow, she had a feeling he wouldn't hurt her, so she took it in her and he led her to the gazebo, where they sat down!

"Susie, I want you to know that I am so sorry for taking your life in the way that I did," he began tearfully, "I would do things a lot differently were we both still alive! I want more than anything to make things up to you and the other kids I murdered."

"Well I don't think you can, Mr Harvey," Susie said tearfully, "What I want more than anything is to live again and be with my family and friends, but there's no possible way that can happen!"

Upon speaking to his other victims, George learned that they all wanted the same thing, he thought about this for about 24 hours and wondered if there was a way he could make their dreams a reality! Susie would be 22 were she still alive, Holly older.

That night after all his victims had returned to their dorms in heaven, God appeared and just looking at George he knew that he'd thought of a way to make it up to them all, and he asked him what his idea was!

"Sir, I'm more than willing to remain in heaven, but please, give all my victims their lives back, make it like they were never gone!"

"Alright," God said, suddenly God decided to ask George something and he sat down next to him, "George, if you could have your life back, what would you do differently?"

"I wouldn't become a serial murderer for one, I'd try to not be so antisocial and actually make some friends on Earth!"
"Really?"
"Really and truly, I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused all those familes and if I could go back and put it to rights, I would!"
"Very well," God said, "Not only am I going to grant your request of giving all your victims their lives back, but I'm also going to give you yours back, starting from December 6th 1973 and I expect to see some changes in you.  You were a good person, George, but you chose the wrong path! Be certain you choose the right one this time, because if you mess up again, you won't get another chance!  You can start by walking Susie home after school and making sure she gets there safely!"
"Yes, sir," George said sincerely, "I'll do my level best!"
