"What's goin' on here?"

"That's exactly what I wanted to ask you. We received a call from the police." The school counselor said, walking to the top of the stairs. "That damn cop snitched on us after all!" Ryuji cursed under his breath. "Hm. It's rare not to see you alone." The counselor said, referring to Akira and I. "Where were you roaming around until this time?" The counselor demanded. "Uh, you see, sir, uhm, we're old friends, from when we were younger, and Akira moved away, and we, uh, saw each other, and we decided to walk to school together, and we were so caught up in talking, that we, uh, got lost, sir, and, uh, we're sorry, sir. It won't happen again, sir." I lie, figeting with my hands, mentally slapping myself for my nervous stutter. "What's this about friends?" Kamoshida walks out, dressed in normal clothes, not just a bathrobe and pink panties. "Kamoshida!?" Ryuji exclaims. "You seem so carefree, Sakamoto. Quite a difference from when you did morning practice for the track team." The pervert says, and I adjust my bag nervously. "Shuddup! It's your fault that-"  Ryuji was interrupted. "How dare you speak that way to Kamoshida!? Huh... there's not much leeway left for you, you know?" The counselor sighs. "He's the one that provoked me!" Ryuji exclaims, and I look down nervously. "Do you really want to be expelled!?" The counselor yells, and I hope that he'll let us go to class soon. "In any case, you'll have to explain yourself! Follow me!" The counselor says, and Ryuji snaps. "What!? This is bullshit!" He yells. "Come now. I should have been more considerate, too. Let's just say that we were both to blame." Kamoshida says with a shit-eating grin. "Well, if you say so..." The counselor trails off. "Still, you're coming with me. It's undeniable that you're extremely late." The counselor says, and Ryuji's shoulders slump. "Fine..." He grumbles, and Kamoshida speaks again. "By the way... You're that  new transfer student, correct? Akira Kurusu...." Kamoshida says, and Ryuji and I walk up the stairs and walk inside as Akira stays for a few moments. "Have we met somewhere?" I heard Kamoshida ask Akira. I stop for a second, listening for Akira's response. "I saw a girl in your car." Akira says. "That's right. I remember now... Well, I'll overlook this just for today. I'm sure you've heard from the principal, but cause any trouble and you'll be expelled. Understand?" Kamoshida warns. "Can you overlook more?" Akira says, and I know he's pushing it with Kamoshida. "Is that supposed to be a joke? I'm not laughing. At any rate, hurry up and go to the faculty office. I'm sure Ms. Kawakami's tired of waiting." Kamoshida says, and I pop my head outside. "Akira, come on! You need to get to the faculty office, newbie!" I yell out to the raven haired boy. He nods. "Follow your girlfriend, she'll keep you in line." Kamoshida commented as Akira walked up the stairs. I growled at the comment. "I'm not his girlfriend." I grumble as Akira joins me inside.

Inside, I can hear students quietly chatting among themselves. They're probably talking about the rumors about Akira. I think to myself. "Hey, are you okay by yourself? There's a teacher there, so you can ask directions from him. We'll be in the same class, there's an open desk next to me, so Ms. Kawakami will put you in between me and the window. Since you don't have any text books at the moment, I'll share mine with you, okay?" I relay my plan with Akira, showing him the teacher. "I gotta go to the classroom to turn in some stuff, but I'll be standing by the door, so you know where it is. See you later!" I say, and walk up the stairs to the second year classrooms to  2-D. I put a few sheets of homework on Kawakami's desk, and sit down. The classroom is soon filled with students, and my best friend Ann Takamaki sits in front of Akira's new seat. "Where have you been, (Y/N)? You've been gone for half the day. Now that I think about it, Sakomoto-kun has been gone too. And apparently the transfer student, too. You weren't hanging around with them, were you?" Ann gets up when she notices me and leans on my desk to talk to me. I try to respond, but am cut off by Akira and Kawakami entering the room. I hear the rumors, and shoo Ann back to her seat.

"Settle down. Well, I'd like to introduce a transfer student, Akira Kurusu." Kawakami says, and Akira and I quickly lock eyes when I sit up straight so he can see me. "Today, we... had him attend from the afternoon on since he wasn't feeling well." She says, lying, probably not even knowing the real truth. I roll my eyes. Toootallyy. I think to myself, remembering the castle. "Alright, please say something to the class." She urges Akira to say something, and he does. "Nice to meet you." He says, not breaking eye contact with me. Nobody notices as the teacher continues. "Uhh, so.... Your seat will be... Hm...." She trails off, scanning the room for an empty seat. "Uh, Ms. Kawakami? There's a open seat next to me." I raise my voice, lifting my hand a bit. "Ah, yes! Thank you, (Y/N)! I wouldn't have noticed that quicker if you hadn't helped. Akira, your seat will be next to (Y/N), the (Hair Color) girl with (Eye Colour) eyes." Kawakami says, and I smile brightly and wave at Akira as he sits next to me. "Sorry, but can the people nearby please share- oh.... wow, (Y/N), you're being so much kinder than usual. Are you okay?" She asks, seeing Akira already has a textbook and mine's gone. "I'm completely fine, Ms. Kawakami. Just in a good mood today, that's all." I say, smiling at her. "Oh, right, the Volleyball rally's in two days. Everyone's just changed classes, so make sure you use that time to get to know each other." Kawakami remembers, and Akira and I share a slight glance at each other as I use my hand to prop my head up, and my elbows to prop myself up on the desk. "Well then, let's get class started."
