The following morning, Steve woke up feeling good. He went to Heath’s room and woke him up to help him prepare the necessary things they will need to get out of the hut. They started packing up bags for everyone. Meanwhile in Adda’s room, Ruth woke up before Adda did. Adda woke up to Ruth’s smiling face above hers. Adda could not help herself but to smile back at her. She held her hand and walked out of the room. Steve and Heath were almost done packing up. Adda greeted them and asked them about Stacy and Fred.
‘Where are Fred and Stacy?’ She asked. ‘Did they wake up yet?’
‘I don’t think so’ Heath replied.
Adda knocked on the door multiple times but no one answered.
‘I’m coming in’ she said as she knocked on the door.
She opened the door and found no one inside. She checked the bathroom and no one was there. Steve thought they might already be outside waiting for them. He opened the door and as if he saw a ghost. Heath, Adda and Ruth were behind the door so they could not see what had spooked Steve. The expression on his face scared them. Steve fell on his back and crawled backwards. He bumped into the wall then he sat down. He looked at them and started talking.
‘We are all going to die’ he said to them.
Adda told Ruth to stay put while they go and check what happened. Heath and her went to the door and saw Fred’s body cut vertically in half near the car. Heath tried to run away but Adda grabbed him. He tried to run again so she slapped him.
‘Do you want to die?’ She yelled at him. ‘Do NOT try to run away.’
‘We have to look for Stacy.’ Steve said. ‘Where is she?’
They went to check on Fred’s body first. When they got near him, they saw someone sitting in the driver seat of the car. They moved closer and realized that was Stacy. They all suspected that she died. They approached the car cautiously and slowly. They saw her eyes were wide open and she had a creepy look. Suddenly, Stacy looked at them and yelled very loudly.
‘DO NOT RUN!’ Stacy yelled.
She started shaking while her eyes still very widely open. She opened the door while screaming and making loud noises. She started running in a very unusual way. Her legs looked like they were broken but she was still running towards Fred’s body. Everyone moved back as Stacy fell down between Fred’s two halves. Steve and the rest ran to the inside of the hut.
Steve started crying uncontrollably while Heath sat in the corner of the room. Adda was the only one who was trying to stay sane. Ruth then asked her what happened. She did not want to tell her any details but she told her that Stacy and Fred were killed. Ruth did not seem to care about the deaths as much as her own safety.
‘Are we all going to die? Ruth asked. ‘Is that it?’
Adda looked at every direction and it looked like she was trying to find something. Then, she started talking.
‘It doesn’t have to be this way.’ Adda said. ‘Whoever or whatever you are, you need to stop it. Tell us what you want from us.’
They all looked at Adda and were anticipating a reaction. They did not know what to expect but they were all afraid to find out. They waited a minute and nothing happened. Ruth then did the same thing.
‘If you want to kill us all, why not just do it already?’ Ruth said.
A spoon fell off the dining table and they all jumped at the noise. A voice came from the opposite direction. It came out of nowhere. It sounded sad and tired.
