"To make the journey and not fall deeply in love, well, you haven't lived a life at all. But you have to try, 'cause if you haven't tried, you haven't lived. You never know, lightning could strike..."
As soon as art class got over, I started towards my locker to get the books for Biology. In the hallway, I noticed Alexa chatting away with Mark. He had an angular face with a defined jawline. He was muscular and around 6'2". You could never walk past him and not notice him, thanks to those beautiful blue eyes. They were as blue as the sky. He had brown hair with blonde highlights.
Mark's only drawback was his mysteriousness. He didn't interact much even when with the gang. Today, though, he seemed to put away his disguise. Alexa seemed perfect for him and vice versa. I hoped their date would work out. They seemed like someone who would hit it off instantly. I waited till Alexa caught my eye, then gave her a thumbs up. She blushed.
I reached out to open my locker and took out my books. I took my earphones out from the pocket of the denim jacket I was wearing over my yellow sundress. Putting the music on shuffle on my phone, I walked up to the next class.
As I entered the room, I noticed Patrick flirting with Daniella Evans, the girl who happened to be the reason for our breakup. Why did it still hurt so bad to see him with that girl? I didn't deserve any of this pain.
**Flashback, 2 months ago**
It was our 9 month anniversary, and I was excited to no extent. Pat and I took turns to plan something special for each other every three months.
On our 3 month anniversary, Patrick had taken me to this really fancy restaurant, called Starlight. The restaurant's interior was designed as if we were sitting in a meadow, a cloudless, starry sky above us. He had gotten our chairs decorated with blue and orange balloons (blue was my favourite color, and orange was his), and had the restaurant play all my favourite songs on the Violin.
For our 6 month anniversary, I took him to his favourite adventure park. Patrick absolutely loved adventure parks, and the smile on his face and the glistening of his eyes while we rode the rides made the day worth it. He said it was the best gift he ever got from anyone and made me fall in love with him even more.
