After about 15 minutes of waiting for the airport workers to put my luggage in the plane, it was finally time to go to security. Our airport was very small, I mean we live in Maine, one of the most boring states in America. So there isn't really bound to be any tourists.

As I was standing in line, I saw my gate right across from the body scanners. The sign above the little entrance was in bright green letters that read: NOW BOARDING. That made me even more sick to the stomach. I'm meeting a woman I haven't seen in thirteen years? Great. What else could make this better?

Oh yea! Did I mention I was going on this trip alone? Like, no parents to protect me in case my grandma really isn't who she is? Just dandy, don't you think so? But whatever, life goes on I guess.

While I was sitting down trying to put my shoes back on, I could see my parents at the exit, waving bye. I did this sort of awkward stiff hand movement to show I saw them. Then it was off to the gate.

"May I have your passport and ticket please?" The lady at the booth stuck out her hand. I reached in my pocket to take it out, and when I did mange, I dropped it. Everyone in back of me, which were pretty much 3 middle aged business men going on a business trip, groaned in frustration. I quickly picked up the little book, and pushed it to the woman. "First time on a plane?" she asked, not looking up while she scanned the ticket. "Um yea, can you tell?" I asked. She smiled very sweetly. I've been working here for 15 years. I can see everything on everyone's face and body language. But don't worry, I'll make sure the flight attendant takes good care of you." I smiled back, uttered a thank you, and got in my seat.

I looked at my ticket. "E15. Nice a window seat." I didn't bother putting my backpack in the compartment, I would only make the situation awkward with people trying to get to their seat.

Other than that, I had no human contact for the rest of the 6 and a half hours on the plane. Thank god! I just left my earbuds in the whole entire time and went to sleep. But I guess I sort of overslept because once I woke up, we already landed and I was the last one on the plane. The flight attendant thought I was dead. What can I say? I am a heavy sleeper.

I then grabbed my bag, and made my way out of the plane with the flight attendant. She agreed to help me get to my destination since the airport was a maze to me.

We sort of talked on the way to the luggage area. "So, why'd you come to Liverpool?" she asked. I looked down at my feet. "Um, I'm here to see my grandmother." She smiled. "We'll I'm sure you'll like it here um-- what's your name?" " Aurelia, but you can call me Lia," I answered. "What a lovely name! Ah, this must be your stop Aurelia, hope to see you again soon."

We said our goodbyes and I went to grab my luggage. It took forever for mine to come out of the belt, it was one of the last ones. I grabbed it and went down the escalator to find my grandma. There was a group of people who were holding little signs with people's name on it. I was searching for my name, and it turned out I could see it. On a big, neon green board with red glitter letters.

Oh yea. This was gonna be something.
