I awkwardly walked into the crowd of people and eventually found the lady holding the sign.

I looked at her, then she looked at me. I smiled slightly at her and waved. Then next few moments happened so fast.

She practically tackled me.

"AURELIA! Oh my goodness you look so much like Christian! Oh I knew it was you on the escalator."
I was too busy trying to breath to hear what she was saying. She then proceeded to pinch my cheeks.

"Oh my, I haven't seen you in ages, darling! You were just a little babe when I went to visit your mum and dad. Look at you! You are a beautiful young woman now, aren't you?"

My cheeks were burning and felt like they were going to fall off, but she moved her hands before that could happen.

"Um, hello grandmother. Its really nice to see you."
I said politely and quietly.

She gave me a look while grabbing my only suitcase.

"Now now, none of that nonsense. I'm your grandma! Don't talk to me like I'm the queen! Haha!" she joked.

I stuttered a sorry and followed her to the parking lot.

I noticed a little sticker on the back of her car. It looked like a bass drum head with faded words that I couldn't point out. But I mean the car was pretty old, so I didn't mind.

We both strapped into the car, and drove off onto the highway.

The first half of the ride was quiet, a bit to quiet for my comfort. I decided to look at the license plates of the other cars, noticing how different everything was from America. As I was being weirded out by sitting where the driver usually sits, she decided to break the silence.

"So, are you excited to be in Liverpool?" she asked, her thick accent coming out even more on the word Liverpool.

"Yes, definitely. I love new experiences, so I'm sure this will be great." I clutched onto the little Polaroid camera that my mother gave to me for this trip. She expected plenty of pictures.

"And what have you got there?" She glanced at my hands quickly, then glued her eyes back to the road.

"Oh nothing, just a camera." I answered, fidgeting around with the strap that was meant to go around your neck.

"Well, we'll be able to go back into the city to go sightseeing tomorrow, love. I have to help you unpack, show you around the house and neighborhood, and have dinner. We can't have time to go looking around right now."

Wait. Back into the city? That means she probably lives in the outskirts of town. Great. That most likely mean no wifi whatsoever.

"My house is an old one, but your father and I made great memories there. I'm sure you'll love it." She had a very noticeable hint of excitement in her voice, which oddly made me smile warmly.

Maybe this trip wouldn't be so bad after all.
