Chapter One:
Leah's POV
It's hard having this life as an actress. I love my fans but I need my space too. Paparazzi follow me everywhere and let me tell you, those cameras in my eyes give me the biggest headaches. But other than my space and the Paps, I love my job. On set, it was like a dream. A dream I never wanted to leave. But I miss home. I need a break. The only way I could get that was from my twin sister Lina. She's just an average girl . She goes to school and everything but I can handle that for a few months, I think. But there's one thing I don't want her to have. My boyfriend Matt. We are only dating for publicity but it felt real sometimes, at least to me it does. He's a Magcon boy. And gosh he could not get any more perfect. His face. His eyes and hair. His personality in general; he’s funny and sweet, and generous. His everything.
Lina would totally mess everything up in my relationship with him, even if it wasn't completely real. She thinks that the Magcon boys are too good to be true and that they use their looks to impress girls.Lina thinks that the boys are not capable of controlling themselves and that they're too cocky for their own good. She hated that. But if she does this for me, she has to deal with it, because if she ruins this for me I'm going to strangle her. Screw it. I NEED this break. I'm going to get it, and guess what? No one will even know about it.
Lina's POV
School was almost over. Thank God. All I was doing was watching those little clocks tick all day long. Right now it was is exactly two minutes before the bell. I began to pack up my things on my desk into a pile before I was interrupted. "Ms.Calvin, what's the answer that you got on question two?" Mrs.Montgomery asked. I looked down at the paper that I haven't even started. I read the question quickly and said, "I got letter B." She gave me a scolding gaze but said, "Nice job. Alright class, I think that's all for today. I'll see you on Monday, have a good weekend!"
Then the bell rang.
I ran to my locker and jammed my things in it. I shut it and saw my best friend Melayna running to me. "Hey chica! Ready?" she asked. I nodded and we began walking home. We lived right next door to each other. When we got home, we hugged and we went inside to our houses. As I took off my shoes and walked further my mouth dropped. Leah was here ?! "What are you doing here ?" I asked, quite rudely actually.
"Well its nice to see you too." she answered in a sarcastic tone. I rolled my eyes. "Girls!" Mom sighed, gazing at me. "Lina, can I talk to you up stairs for a minute?" Leah asked. "uh, yeah sure. Whatever," I answered while rolling my eyes again. We walked into my room and she unexpectedly shut the door with somewhat of a hopeful look on her face, like she wanted to ask me for something. But what would I have that Leah wanted, and couldn’t buy herself? This should be good.
Lina's POV
"I know this is A LOT to ask but can you do me a huge favor?" Leah said while extending her arms to emphasize huge. "What in the world do you want that you can’t say over the phone or buy yourself? " I asked. "Well... umm" she was nervous. Leah is never nervous; she has always been the confident one who cared about how everyone saw her.
"Well?" I asked impatiently "I need you to be me for a while.." she blurted out quickly. "Huh? What do mean be you? Wait. You don't mean-" I started, confused before Leah cut me off. "You know what I mean Lina! I need a break. Can you please do this for me? Sister to sister? You don't understand how much I miss home. How tired I am of always having a pap breathing down my neck and all the criticism and hate for dating Matt." She said as a tear rolled down her face. Even though I envied her and I couldn't seem to comprehend that she doesn't like her celebrity life, I felt sympathy for her in my heart. I looked at her. She needed this. I could tell. "Leah, I don't know. What about Matt, the boyfriend you just mentioned?" I asked her. "Lina, please? Matt will be fine, just say what I would say I don't know but please." She responded with more tears rolling down her cheeks. I huffed and said very quietly "Okay. Yes, I'll do it." She wiped her tears and smiled slightly before I nodded and she started jumping up and down saying "Thank you, thank you ,thank you!" she hugged me. I haven't hugged her in a very long time -six months to be exact- and frankly, I missed it.
So I hugged back .
Leah's POV
I cant believe this. I honestly thought she would say no. I was so happy, I had to hug her. "So when does the switch start?" Lina asked. "Tomarrow." I answered. "WHAT?! YOU'RE TELLING ME I HAVE ONE DAY LEFT TO SAY BYE TO MY PARENTS BEFORE I PRETEND TO BE YOU!? " She yelled. "Im sorry. I didn't think that far into the situation." I said while looking down at my feet. Lina looked at me angrily. "This is crazy. You're lucky that you're my sister. Or this would have ever happened. Ever. " She said. I nodded as I left the room so she could have time to think.
Lina's POV
I don't know what I got myself into. I have to deal with paparazzi, criticism, fans, and her boyfriend Matt just so she could take a dumb break! I can't believe this. How am I going to do this? Her life is crazy. Mine is so normal. I didn't even think about her though. How is she going to be me? She has no idea how hard school is or what it's like having to actually work to get what she wants. This is going to be hysterical. And I'm sure she'll die laughing when she sees me on the TV screen making a fool out of myself. Oh wait. I mean herself.
