Chapter 8
“Are you gonna say something or just continue to look at me like that?” I hear Nick ask.
I’ve been staring at him for the last five minutes. Honestly, I can’t believe he just said that. What if he didn’t mean to say it? He could have meant it in a daughter type way but we are dating so I highly doubt it.
“What do you mean you didn’t send it? It was your number.” That’s a pretty lame excuse if you ask me. But no one asked so my opinion probably doesn’t really matter.
“Yes I know. But someone must have went through it and sent that. I did forget it at the station when I had a call. Luckily it wasn’t my work phone. That could’ve been bad.” He chuckles.
“Leaving your work phone could’ve been bad? How about that fact that someone knows about us? How is that not bad?” I question. Apparently someone’s not using their brain today.
Poor guy.
“Well, honestly I don’t care if people know. Mandi wasn’t feeling well, so she went back home. When I talked to her she told me that you told her about us. At first I was pissed but after she finished talking I realized she was right. I swear she’s turning into me.” he lets out another chuckle and stares out the window again.
“What did she tell you?” I mean it had to be good in order for him to not care what people think all of a sudden, right?
He lets out a sigh, “well, she said that since you’re of legal age that it doesn’t really matter. People may talk because there’s an age difference but really that doesn’t matter since it’s not that bad. And she said that she hasn’t seen either one of us this happy in a while and it’s good to see us smile and actually mean it. Plus I could use a woman like you to whip me into shape. Her words not mine.” I laugh at that.
Of course she would say something like that. Sounds like Mandi.
“Who do you think sent the message then?” I ask as he sits back beside me on the bed. Sitting a lot more closer now than earlier.
“I don’t have a clue babe. I can look at the cameras when we head back but that might take a while.” He grabs my hand and pulls it towards his mouth.
“Do you wanna stay for two nights since it’s already paid for?” I question.
He seems to think about it for a minute. “Sure why not? I’ll call Mandi and tell her. She can stay with Mason. They won’t do anything they haven’t done. You wanna call for some pizza?”
I nod my head and grab my phone searching for the nearest pizza restaurant. I find it and call it in and have it delivered to the room.
I lie down on the bed watching Nick talk on the phone. Honestly, I’m glad someone sent that message, if they wouldn’t have then we wouldn’t be in this hotel room alone for two nights.
He finally ends the call and comes to lay with me. He lies on his back while I’m on his chest.
“What are you thinking about?” he questions me.
“Honestly, I was thinking about that pizza. I’m starving.” He lets out a laugh that shakes his whole body and sends vibrations through his chest.
“Fair enough.” He pauses. He acts like he’s gonna say something but just shuts his mouth once a knock comes on the door.
“I’ll get it.” he says and walks to the door while pulling out his wallet.
