Alice's P.O.V
"Please tell me you're not planning on wearing that." I popped up behind Bella who was holding a blue and purple dress.
"Your brother won't go get me clothes." She pouted. Edward was still at it. I kissed the top of Bella's head and she looked up at me.
"How was it?"
"How was what?"
"You know, the date."
"It wasn't a date Bella, if was...awful." I lied through my teeth.
"Was he that bad?"
"I smelled wet dog all through out dinner, he ate like an animal, and then wanted us to go back to his house."
A smile teased the corner of her lips.
"What?"
"You just came back this morning?"
"You're gross Bella and I can't believe you think it would be with a dog."
"An adorable dog." She corrected.
"Yeah right, there's nothing cute about a body builder sized boy."
"Alice." Bella tugged on my arm. "He's great."
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Will you talk to Edward about keeping me here then?" She begged.
"Sure."
"Love you Alice." She pecked my cheek. I wanted to tell Bella about how absolutely in love I was with Jacob. I couldn't though, one thought about it an Edward would know all my secrets.
I walked downstairs and Edward was sitting on the couch, fiddling with his hands.
"Bella is not your prisoner of war."
"What's that suppose to mean?"
"Whatever it is you have going on, Bella shouldn't have to suffer."
"She's not suffering. She hasn't told me anything."
"Just like a man, read between the lines Edward."
"It's hard for me, I don't want to hurt her, but I I'm not sure how not to."
"You can start by giving her some freedom. I think she deserves it."
"Maybe, where have you been?"
I thought about Shakespeare to keep him from entering my thoughts.
"Out?"
"With the dog?"
"Maybe."
His face hardened as I laid on to him the complete Odyssey. He walked away quickly and I thought myself saved for the time being.
I laid back and could smell Jacob from here. What was he doing? He should have called first. I walked outside and saw not only Jacob but his whole pack.
