***A/N: I'm so sorry I haven't updated yet!! I've been studying a lot and I've been planning out the plot. I'm going to try to update everyday and when I'm busy I'll try to update every 2-3 days :) I hope you're liking it so far! :D ***
Ever since Science, my mood has been sky high. I walk with a bounce in my step and I feel like I'm enveloped in a bubble of happiness. I actually feel happy for once. Even though I didn't want to get noticed today, I really am glad I did. Especially by Hayes Grier.
I stroll into the cafeteria, and I'm slightly surprised when I see that it's crammed with people sitting on tables and talking with friends, some impatiently waiting in line to buy lunch and even a handful of people who are screaming and running around like apes with rabies. I expected high school to be a little more classy, but I guess this is what happens when you fill a building with a thousand teenagers.
I scan the tables for Hayes, but I can't see him anywhere. He probably has a different lunch period than I do. I grab a dark green tray for my cafeteria food and I get into the line. There's about 20 people from my spot in line to the counter, so I guess I'll be waiting for a while. Ugh. I hate waiting.
Two girls stand in line in front of me, wearing jeans that are way too tight for them. One has short, dead auburn hair from straightening it too much and the other has platinum blonde hair that has so much hairspray if you knocked on it, it would probably be rock solid. They look like wannabe Barbie dolls. They're shouting extremely loud at each other.
"Oh my god!! JESS!!" The blonde one screeches in her nasally voice.
"Oh my god!! Gillian shut up!! You're like so loud!! Everyone's going to like hear!!" The other replies. I cringe at her high-pitched, unsophisticated voice. It's ironic how she's telling her to shut up, because she's speaking with the same volume as the blonde.
"Ugh who cares! I can't believe you like Hayes! Everyone knows that Nash is like sooooo much better!!" The blonde says back, exaggerating her shock. I've never seen Nash before, but I've heard a lot about him.
"Oh my god Gillian you like never listen to me!! I said that I only pretend to like Hayes so that Nash will notice me! Duh! Why else would anyone like Hayes? He's just Nash's little brother, like a way of like getting Nash to notice you! Duh!!" The auburn haired one explains with sass. I'm more pissed off than I should be. That's so inconsiderate! I hate it when people don't think about how someone else will feel before they act. It feels horrible to be used like that. Also, they don't even know Nash! How could someone like a guy just for their looks? That is so shallow! It makes me sick to think some people actually think like that.
"Ugh thank god! I was gonna like kill you if you actually liked him!!" Gillian says, shaking her friend's shoulders. "OH MY GOD JESSICA I SEE THE HOTTEST GUY ON EARTH!!!" The blonde screams at the top of her lungs. Her dumb friend jumps up and down, causing her flab that's hanging out over the waistline of her pants to jiggle.
"WHO?!?" She hollers back, spinning in circles.
"NASH GRIER YOU DUMBASS!!" The blonde shouts insanely, screaming and jumping with her friend.
I can't control myself, and I begin to laugh at their stupidity. They freak out as if their mothers just died when a guy walks into the room. Such idiots. But, I do want to see Nash. I'm curious as to who this apparent heartthrob is.
I rotate my body to face the direction that the girls are looking in, and I spot him. Suddenly, I stop laughing.
I swear, that boy belongs on a freaking Hollister bag.
The first thing I notice is his height. He has to be at least 6 feet tall, the perfect height for girls because most of them can wear super high heels and still be shorter than him. Not that I would ever wear heels; I hate heels. His shoulders are broad, toned and they slant downwards slightly. His dark brown hair sticks up in an upwards style and he wears a white t-shirt that compliments his tan skin. Even from across the room, his huge, bright blue eyes are still stunningly noticeable. I can see why the girls are all over him. He's probably a player, considering all the choices he has. He's already swarmed by girls trying to get his attention, and I can see even more of them admiring him from afar. It really is a shame in my opinion, an ugly attitude destroys a pretty face. What a waste of good genes.
