They got to Matt's house through the bus, Edd's mum was going to try and fix Edd's hearing aid once he got home, and he told his mum what happened. Luckily he had a backup in his backpack, that he had completely forgot about.
"So, what did we need to talk about?"
"This Tord character. He's the one who broke the fountains, his mum has Toxikinesis! The pretty damn rare, so is Telekinesis! How could it not be him!"
"Tom, calm down. Yeah, it's probably him, but we can't go around with the only evidence being where he's from, his last name, his parents powers and his. For all we know, Lokken could be a very popular last name there! Telekinesis and Toxikinesis might be less rare in Norway. We have to stack up more proof," Edd's chocolate brown eyes sparkle as he speaks.
"Fine. Yeah, I get it. It's just, they moved here probably to run from Norwegian authority or something," Tom mumbles, glancing off to the side, even if no one noticed that he did. He often did this, looking away when people spoke, trying to go off into his own little world. It never really worked for him. Someone would notice how he's not paying attention, and start over whatever they were saying or just stop and walk away.
"Tom, you paying attention?"
"Yeah, what do you think we should do?"
"Maybe you could try and see what this so called 'training' he indulges in so much?" Matt cocks his head, his blue eyes sparkle with his 'amazing' idea, Tom always thought Matt was really overdramatic.
"We don't know where he lives," Tom scratches his head. He never exactly liked being the spy for Edd and Matt, but he always did it. He knows if he probably told them he didn't like it, they would stop, but he just does it anyways. It makes things a lot easier.
"Phone, track his parents and we can get there," Matt holds up the phone, glancing at Edd and Tom. "Fine. How are we gonna get there? None of us can drive."
"He's only a few blocks away from my house, come on! Let's go," Matt drags the two up. "Mum! We're gonna talk a walk!"
"Be carful! Don't use your powers unless you need too!" she yells back, they walk out the door, Matt keeps looking at Tord's phone to make sure they get to the right place.
"We should still just report him, but we can just stalk him if that's what you want," Tom puts his hands in his pockets. "Look, it'll be fine, we just want to see this so called 'training' he does," Edd smiles.
The three keep walking, until Matt stops. "It's this street, I don't know which one though," he looks around the street. "Let me see that," Edd grabs the phone, squinting at it, "from this, I think it's over this way?" he points to a few houses.
"I bet it's that one. The car's red. He wears a lot of red, the red jacket, red shirt, red wrist band, and red shoes, it's just a guess," Tom points to the house with a red car parked in front of it. "Oh, well let's go," Edd runs over there, leaving Matt and Tom running after him.
"Edd, don't use your powers in public. Okay?" Matt glares at him. "It's just running? I'm fine, I just like teasing you about it, gosh," he rolls his eyes.
Tom, he never had to worry like Edd or Matt. Someone might think he just has good agility, even though he was born with what would take someone an extremely long time to get. Night Vision is just seeing in the dark, like a cat. Matt would sometimes make a clone without realizing it, and Edd would run way too fast without realizing it.
"I'll go ahead, you guys can get in another way," Tom jumps on the trash can, and over the fence, and into the backyard. "Now, where would they be?" he mutter, looking up, the second floor. He hears people talking. "How am I going to- there," he climbs up a rose wall, getting on the roof of the first floor, looking into the window.
"Bruk sverdet, og stek dummien, nå Thorfird,(Use the sword, and stab the dummy, now Thorfird)," Tord's mom, points at the sword.
"Training, what the fu*k are they saying?" Tom cocks his head looking at it. "Ja mamma," he shakily picks up the sword, using his Telekinesis to throw it at the dummy, missing and hitting the wall. "Du er lurt! Det var det enkleste(You piece of sh*t! That was the easiest thing)!" his mom yells at him, grabbing him by the ear.
Tom quietly watches, waiting for something else to happen. "Du dritt(You shi*t)!" she slaps Tord's face. "Mamma, jeg-"
"Nei!" she slaps his face again, "gjør det igien(do it again)!" she spats in Tord's face.
"Mamma-"
She smacks him for a third time, and he shuts his mouth, holding his check. It was obvious he was trying to hold back any tears. Maybe that means he'll get slapped again.
"Tom! What's going on up there?" Edd whisper-yells, the two finally got in the backyard. "Tord, his parents are," Tom stops what he was saying, jumps down from the roof, landing on his feet, like a cat, before continuing, "Tord's parents are training with him, now, I couldn't understand what they were saying, but he made a small mistake and they yelled at him. His mum slapped him three times, I don't even get what for?" he scratches his head.
"Like-"
"Edd, please not now," Tom sighs softly. "Okay, okay, well, how are we suppose to confront him, without him knowing we stalked him?"
"I can go back up there and see what else is going on," Tom shrugs his shoulders. "If you think it's needed, or we can just ring the doorbell," Edd scratches his head.
"Sure, but your doing it, I need to get home."
"Do you want me to walk with you?"
"Edd, I'll be fine. You give the sh*tbag his phone back," Tom smirks, walking to the gate. "Tom, be carful alright!"
"I know, don't baby me," he sighs, he walks right through the park, then he's there. At his house, you would always here kids screaming, dogs barking, that was just one of the things about living across the street from the park.
He walked by protesters. People who thought it was unfair there were people with powers, and those without, Tom always thought those people were acting stupid. Which they were. Who cares? If you really think it's unfair, then try and get some powers yourself.
"Would you like to-"
"No thanks," Tom pushes the protester away before he keeps walking home, only to be greeted by his angry mother, he sighs. This happens almost every time he has a seizure at school. "Thomas! The school called me, they told me about you having the seizure at school! Why aren't you taking your medicine! I know you aren't taking them!"
"Mum, I'm sorry! I'll take it tomorrow," he quickly puts his hands up like he's defending himself. "Thomas, I spend a lot of money on that medication. We can't afford any of the surgeries, but the medication we can barely fit in the budget. Please," she sighs, Tom walks over to her, hugging her. "I know, I-I'm sorry," he sigh, putting his head over her shoulder, keeping the hug. After Tom's dad died, his mum has been struggling to keep up with work, taking care of the house, bills, Tom and herself. Tom and work goes first for her.
"Thomas, maybe you should stay home from school tomorrow? Help clean up the house a bit?" she sighs, putting her hands on his shoulders. "Yeah sure, we can do that," he sighs.
Tom never minded helping his mum around the house. Especially if it meant he didn't have to go to school. People would always call his powers 'worthless' or 'useless' and even call him those things. People would also say he's faking the seizures to get out of classes or to get out of school. Even if they clearly see he's not faking it, that's another reason why he has the bracelet. Of course, he never told his mum this. She would freak out and yell at the principal about how bad she does her job.
He, of course, didn't want that to happen so he keeps his mouth shut. He knew, and his friends knew, his seizures are real. On his powers? He really thought nothing of them. Just like getting that small upgrade in a game that helps you a lot in the long run. Not a big of a thing to others, but some people would disagree.
"Thomas? Is there something on your mind?"
"Hmm? No, I'm fine mum," he smiles, assuring her, "I'm sorry, about not taking my medicine," he sighs scratching his head.
"Just, take your meds tomorrow? And every day. That's all we can do," she sighs. They walk into the house, and Tom heads off into his room. "Thomas, get back over here. Tell me about your day?"
"Um, okay," he walks back over, sitting at the dining table, "well, we got a new kid. Tord, in first period, um, I had my seizure, Edd and Matt took me to the nurse, and since I slammed my head on the desk, my head was hurting. I skipped second, third nothing special. Forth, we sat with Tord at lunch, fifth was fine, sixth period, a kid with Technokinesis broke Edd's hearing aid. Seven and eighth was okay," he scratches his head.
"Why did you skip second period? Your longest seizure was two minutes, excluding the ones you had as a baby, not forty-five," she gives him a stern look. "Mum, I slammed my head on the desk pretty hard, she told me to rest, and I did," he puts his hands up again.
"Alright, just, Thomas please take your meds, I don't want to have to get called almost an hour after it happens," she rubs her temples. "I don't know if you remember this, but the first ones you had lasted for almost an hour, you had to be hospitalized," she sighs, looking at her son. "Y-You've told me, I know you worry about me. I said I'll start taking them again, okay."
"Now, which kid was the one that broke Edd's hearing aid?"
"I don't know. I only know one kid with Technokinesis, Jase, but he's all the way across the building for sixth period," he scratched his head again. "Hmm, what about that new kid Thor?"
"Tord, mum. One, he's Telekinetic, two, he's not in the class. The school's already trying to find which kid did it," he sighs. "That's good," she smiles at him. Tom opens his mouth to say something, before his head slams on the table, shaking, and his bracelet starts beeping again, drool starting to come out of his mouth.
"Dammit," she nervously sighs, picking him up, and placing him on the couch close by the dining table, on his side and putting a pillow under his head, getting out her phone to time it. Doctors' instructions on what to do when it happens. She would like to hug him and tell him it's okay, but they told her not to do that.
"It's alright Thomas," she calmly whispers, moving the trash can close to his mouth in case he throws up, "I'm right here, don't worry."
Tom eventually stops shaking, and his bracelet stops beeping, and just lies there, not saying anything, which was a common thing after a seizure happened. "Thomas, sweetie, you okay?" she stops the timer on her phone, a minute and thirty-three seconds, then going to stroke his hair. He slowly puts his hand into a thumbs up. It was a sign they came up with, if he can't talk after a seizure.
He sighs softly, closing his eyes. She sighs, standing up, and grabbing a blanket and putting it over top of him, giving him a motherly kiss on his forehead. "Your damn father did this to you, his stupid powers. You would of been fine with just my Night Vision, not with his Monster sh*t," she mummers under her breath, getting a cup out from the cupboard, and then getting water from the fridge, going to sit in the chair near the couch.
