{Chapter 6}

I continued looking out the window as Justin continued driving. It was honestly awkward now. I sighed and we pulled into the driveway.

"I'm sorry." Justin said. "For being rude."

I didn't say anything. We just went inside and we went upstairs. My mom didn't notice us.

This time I took my new chair that was in my room and dragged it over to my desk. I didn't feel like sitting in the same seat, more specifically sitting on his lap. We got out our stuff we just bought.

"When's the project due?" I mutter.

"Next Friday." Justin said bluntly.

"Oh." I said.

We both silently started working. I couldn't process what happened in the car. I have a feeling that Justin was telling the truth. But Kaylee kind of has a reputation at school...

"Can you grab me the green paint, please." I said as I avoid eye contact.

"Don't be afraid of me." Justin lightly lifted my chin up.

"I'm not." I said.

"Then why aren't you looking into my eyes?" Justin asked in a seductive tone as he looks deep into my eyes like he's searching for something.

"I just don't know what to believe." I said as I pull away.

"What do you mean?" Justin asked.

"It'll be hard to explain. Never mind." I said.

Justin hesitated. He keep looking at me but he went back to cutting the styrofoam ball. I continued painting.

We were finally done. We just need to put it together, but we deserve a break. Justin decided to stay. It wasn't even nighttime yet.

"Do you guys want any drinks?" Mom asked.

"Lemonade." We say at the same time.

We looked at each other and laughed. Mom smiled and grabbed a glass cups. Justin and I decided to go outside and enjoy the weather.

"It feels so nice today." I said.

"It does." Justin replied.

"I'm glad it's the end of the year." I smiled as I looked up.

"Yeah, I'm glad. So I won't see Kaylee- so I won't see people I don't like again." Justin says awkwardly.

"Here's two lemonades." Mom said.

"Thank you." Justin says.

"No problem." Mom smiled. "I'll be heading out. Make sure you lock the doors before you go back in."

"Alright." I said.

"Bye." Justin said.

There was a moment of silence. I was drinking down the lemonade fast. I was basically chugging it.

"Ariana, are you okay?" Justin asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said as I looked down.

"You look upset, what's wrong?" Justin asked.

"You were talking about Kaylee again." I said.

"Sorry-

"I get the sense that both of you are lying about what happened to you guys." I said.

I looked over to Justin. He looks guilty. I wonder why.

Don't think I'm weird. But I'm really sensitive. I can get really sad and angry at the same time.

"Justin-

"There's something I didn't tell you." Justin says as he still looks spaced out.

"What? Look at me." I said.

"I've been hooking up with Kaylee." Justin says as he finally looks at me.

"Are you serious? So both of you are lying." I said with my voice rising.

"It was the only way. But we stopped about a week ago." Justin said.

"Why is it he only way?!" I said with my voice still rising.

"We didn't want anybody to suspect anything between us. We just wanted everybody to suspect that we don't like each other." Justin says.

"Why do you care if anybody knows? They'll act like you guys are together, that's it. So you guys have been lying to my face." I said as I crossed my arms.

"I'm sorry." Justin said as he steps closer.

"You know I hate liars." I said as I looked down at the ground.

"Ariana-

I grabbed my glass cup and threw it as hard as I can onto the wooden porch. I immediately regret what I did so I bent down. Justin bends down to. He helps me grab the shattered pieces but in the process I feel like arms and knee sting. It hurt so bad.

I looked down to see my arms and knees bleeding. The glass somehow got on my arms and knees. I wasn't even near the glass, only my hands were.

Justin noticed so he dropped the glass and helped me up. I can barely bend my knees, so it was hard for me to walk. Justin picked me up and we went to the bathroom.

Justin carefully took the pieces of glass out and threw it away. Justin ran to the kitchen and looked for the first aid kit. He found it and opened it.

Justin managed to clean my cuts up and put a bandage around it. It stung like hell. Justin said it wouldn't get infected, when he was little he got a lot of glass on himself. His mom did the same thing to what he did to me and he was al fine.

"Thank you. I kind of got angry." I said.

"It's okay. Let's go upstairs." Justin said.

We both went upstairs and sat down on the bed.

"How bad did it sting?" Justin asked.

"Not that bad, but bad." I giggled.

"You know, you're easily to like." Justin said.

I blush, wait why am I blushing? I don't like him that way. I just ignored the fact that it sounded like he was flirting.

"You are too." I said.

Justin leans closer. But I look away. He was trying to kiss me. I know it.

"Are you okay?" Justin says as he lifts my chin up again.

"You need to stop asking me that." I said.

"I'm just making sure." Justin said.

"Fine." I said as I rolled my eyes.

"You look so kissable." Justin smirked.

We both lean closer, but it's not right. I look down and I let out a sigh. From the corner of my eye, I see Justin's jaw clenched.

"I can't just make signs for you to kiss me without you actually kissing me." Justin says in an angry tone but he's calm.

"Justin I just can't kiss you. It isn't right." I said.

"Why isn't it right? I really like you-

I pull him into a kiss. Justin kisses me back and the feeling of his soft lips touching mine is better than the feeling of him kissing my cheek. I cup his cheeks with my hands and he pulls me closer to him. The kiss started to get faster but I caught up with his pace. Our lips started to move in sync. Justin flips me over gently and lays me down. I move my hands to his neck and pulled him closer. I let go without breaking the kiss and tugged on his shirt for the sign of him to take his shirt off.
