"Mom, I don't know what I did." It was my fifth time talking to her about this since it happened. "I can't marry him, not now."

"Honey, he'll help you. That means you won't have to go find a job. You can just be an average woman and stay at home. It's tradition." My mom dried the dish I just handed her. Here I am, four months pregnant, my mom living with me, no job and I just denied a proposal the other day.

"I don't want that life." I mumbled under my breathe.

"Trust me, you do," my mom clearly heard me. I turned off the water and handed her the last dish.

"No I won't trust you. Wanna know why? You never had a choice." I walked out of the kitchen. It was true. My mom doesn't know what it's like to live, well, basically like a man. You're free. Yes, you work, but you can always go out with the guys because your wife is at home with the kids. What I'm trying to say is that my mom was practically forced to marry my dad right after high school. He was sent out to war and my mom had become pregnant. Now I know where I get it from. She had to get help from her own mother and she only had savings from herself and dad. Unfortunately, I was the child that ended up like my mother.

It's been three nights and a morning since I've seen Paul. I was afraid I hurt his feelings. He had planned to come over today because the last few days were booked with band rehearsals, but he might not want to come.

My mom and I had been talking about it a lot recently. Ever since I told her I don't know who's baby it is she wants me to take a DNA test once the baby is born. I'd rather not find out just in case it's Pete's baby. I haven't seen Pete in forever. I really hurt his feelings and I understand if he never wants to see my face again and if he wishes I were dead.

"Ow!" I screeched in pain. But I quickly started crying tears of joy. I started to laugh, too. Mom rushed into the room and put her hand on my back. She looked so worried. Then, I felt it again. It was like a gift from heaven. "Mom, I can feel the baby moving."

My mom let out a light chuckle. "Always a great feeling." My mom sighed and patted my shoulder. "You were always the one that kicked the hardest, you know?"

"Mom..." I rolled my eyes. Mom giggled. "Well, the baby stopped moving."

"Don't you want to find out what the gender is?"

"I told you, I asked the doctor not to tell me. I want it to be a surprise." I cheered. My mom didn't like that decision. She said it's better to find out the gender so that you can get clothes, blankets and toys for their gender. Also to pick out names.

A sudden knock came from the door. My heart beat raced. I knew who it was. Or I think I knew who it was.

I put my hand on the handle and opened the door up slowly. "Oh, hello!" I giggled as I gave a smiling Cynthia a hug. Her stomach was almost bursting! She's just a month due and her and John couldn't be happier. They had a bay shower just last week. They're having a boy, so I got them a cute little baby shoes and a onesie.

"So, has Paul told you the great news?" Cynthia giggled. I shook my head as Cynthia took off her coat. "Oh, really?"

"I haven't seen him in days." I frowned. Cynthia gave me a sympathetic face.

She sighed. "I know what happened." She looked down at her feet. "Paul told John."

"I figured he'd tell someone." I sighed. My mom left the room. Cynthia looked back up at me.

"He felt horrible. I heard him tell John that he couldn't bare to see you again. He was embarrassed." Cynthia said softly. "I'll have you know that he said he was drunk."

"I thought so," I brought Cynthia over to the couch. "He was supposed to come over today, but I don't think he will. It's already..." I looked over at the clock on the wall. "Three pm."

"I'm sure you'll see him soon." Cynthia gulped. Then, she suddenly smiled. "Okay, but the news that he never told you was.. wait, are you okay if I tell you?"

"Of course!" I jumped and leaned in more out of excitement. Cynthia put her hands on my lap.

"The boys releasing the album in a month!" Cynthia cheered. I got so excited! I'm so proud of them! They got their release date earlier than they wanted. They had already released a single "Love Me Do" which had done really good and they sometimes get recognized in public. Mostly as "the boys who play at the Cavern".

"That's so great! I'm so happy for them!" I giggled. "When'd this happen?"

"Just yesterday." Cynthia shook her head. "So, not long ago. March 22nd is the release date."

"Wow..." I sighed. The boys are on their way to become famous.
