We're Gonna Be Great!

Chapter 1 : "Devyn has a friend?"

Neena met Devyn through a mutual friend, Ana. Devyn and Neena became friends and went to a Zumba class together - they both hated it and couldn't keep a straight face thru the whole class!! They bonded after that and both started taking kickboxing together instead and love it.

Devyn invites Neena to her place after their kickboxing class for a BBQ dinner with her boyfriend and her roommates on a Friday night in May.

As soon as they get there, Neena is blown away by the sheer scale of the house. It was huge and absolutely gorgeous!

Devyn, what the hell?

What?

This house! Is this where you live?

Yeah.

Oh my God!

What?

What do you mean, what? Look at this place!

I know, right!

"How bomb is this shit?!?" Neena said, letting her eyes run the length and breadth of the property. She got out of the car and stared up at the mansion in awe. Devyn giggled at her and led her inside.

"Come on. The inside is even better." Devyn entered the house and Neena followed, her eyes wide, her mouth agape.

"Holy shit, dude!" Neena said in a loud whisper. Devyn just grinned at her. Once inside the foyer, voices could be heard in the distance. From around the corner, a cute blonde 20-something guy, who she presumed to be Devyn's roommate, appeared. 

"Devyn!!" the blonde exclaimed as a greeting. "And who is this? Hey." he said to Devyn in regards to Neena. 

"This is my friend." Devyn said in her cutest voice and Sam's face perked up.

"What? No way!! You have a friend?" the blonde said, feigning shock and amazement as he walked up to them and held out his hand to Neena. She couldn't help but smile as she met his gaze and shook his hand. "I'm Sam, Devyn's roommate."

"Hey. I'm Neena. Devyn's friend." she told him, mimicking his cadence.

"Devyn, I can't believe you have a friend! Oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you!" Sam said and embraced her in an unreciprocated hug. Devyn rolled her eyes at Sam, who was obviously being silly, and then laughed and finally hugged him back half-heartedly.

And then another guy came trotting down the stairs and popped out of the stair well right behind Sam. 

"Wait, what? Devyn has a friend?!? No way!" the new guy said and then he grinned at Sam and smiled when he saw Devyn and then came to a sudden hault when he saw Neena. He was obviously heading into the kitchen but then seemed to have changed his mind when he saw Neena.  

"Hey, Devyn has a friend, guys!!" Sam said, shouting across to the room around the corner. Several male voices shouted back.

"What?" Devyn has a friend?" "Yeah, Devyn has friend!" "Is Devyn's friend here?" asked one of the faceless voices.

"Yeah, she's right here." the new guy answered and then walked up and introduced himself. "Hey, I'm Colby. What's your name?" he asked, offering his hand to her. Colby was really tall, she noticed first and had milk chocolate brown hair that was feathered forward and over to the side. He was really tall and slim but wasn't wearing a shirt and looked amazing! He wasn't overly muscular but was lean and sinewy and looked like he could take off at a sprint at any moment with no effort at all! And that brilliant white smile, sparkling eyes, and were those dimples? Holy cow!  she thought.
