Rosie was back at school. She limped in on crutches.

"What happened?" whispered Maya

"It just disappeared." Rosie whispered. She lifted her skirt a little and the girls could see that Rosie no longer had a leg. She had nothing.

"Did it hurt?" said Cassie quietly.

"No." said Rosie biting her lip. "I just woke up and now there's nothing there." her voice cracked slightly. "I'm so sorry guys. I just can't do this today. I thought I could but I just..."

A single tear dripped down her cheek and Rosie got up and slowly, carefully limped her way out. Mitch watched her pass from the other side of the room and raised his eyebrows at Cassie. She shrugged and turned back to her work.

When Cassie got home, all the photographs in the house had vanished and her mum was crying softly in the kitchen. A crazy thought entered Cassie's head. "This is what they want." that was a nothing thought, a pointless thought. There was no 'they.' Nobody wanted anything.
